... and said goodbye to the group. Feel sad to leave the group as they have been great and made me feel more than welcome here. I've had a mixed time here, at times it's been difficult to arrange IT lessons with the group and so difficult to find things to keep myself busy, but when I could work with them it was great and they are really enthusiastic and work extremely hard! Later that week, I brought Ian to Consuelo to show him where I used to live last year, and to introduce him to all of the people who helped me during my time here last fall, and who have become very dear to me. I showed him the second place I lived, above the "salon Jenny" with Juana and Mino, and I took him to meet them...they were very excited to meet him! Next, ...

... the orphanage would like for every child to have their own small quilt, so that when they leave they will have something to take with them that is meaningful. We are hoping to get a few people from the orphanage to come in to Consuelo to get some training on how to make them, so that they can go back and get started on that without relying on the vocational school's students. So, there are lots of things going on, and when the Dartmouth East club gets here, ...

... between them is the respect in general that the students have, both for their teachers and for their families. During the week, I rotate between 3 schools in 3 different bateyes, and I work with students in grades 7 and 8, with students ranging anywhere between 11 and 17 or 18 years old. As I may have explained before, students here don't attend classes for the full day; they go for 4 hours only. However, there are 3 different 4-hour sessions ...
