... area dominated by a three roofed pagoda building where the main ceremonies took place. It seems that the emperor progressed through these three areas in the course of the ceremony. Needless to say the structures are all on the grand scale and one suspects the proceedings would have even equally lavish and colourful. The other remarkable thing is the use of the park by the citie's citizens. Remarkably, rather than the young that you would find in London Parks on ...

So now need to go and try and find an ATM. Walking, walking, walking and not one in sight, we can’t get in the shopping centre as they only open on 10am. So after a nice walk for around 20 mins we go to the ATM we walked past in the first 2mins. So finally back in line for ...

... traumatic experience in itself, but I'll leave it at queues of Chinese women so deep & shouting at each other that you couldn't get out of the toilet once you'd finally got in one!!), then heaven.... a stall selling beer & steamed buns! They could have charged us anything at that point, we scurried off to the waters edge where we sat enjoying the best beer in the world, and awesome steamed buns, overlooking the lake & mountains!

We then escaped, walked down the ...
