... making eye contact with the vendors lining both sides of the street. I stole a glance every once in a while to see if there was anything I would be interested in buying on the way back. I was bombarded by offers for water, hats, scarves, gloves and every souvenir you could imagine.

I made it to the shuttle bus without buying anything and felt a sense of accomplishment at my restraint. The shuttle was a full sized touring bus and like ...

Following class, Olivia and Bethany went to eat at S*** over Rice. I got the American dish, which was potato and beef. So much carbs, but I did not care. We chatted about how amazing Beijing is and not wanting to go back home. I truly love it here. China has turned out much more amazing than I expected. Got a 7am start which will seem like a lie in compared to today! Had a really good day, Beijing is another great city!

I would also like to add I used my first non-western toilet today! I bottled it at the Great Wall and found another loo but at the theatre there was simply no option!

... and going to the zoo. We jumped on the local metro line (Andingmen) and headed for Beijing main station... The metro is only 20p a journey anywhere you wish to go. The metro was very busy but this seems to be normal at any time for China. A nice few stares to start our experience with the Chinese, you'd think we were aliens! Outside Beijing railway station was manic.. A huge area filled with Chinese and their luggage (which was mainly laundry bags, rice sacks or anything they ...
