First stop for the day was near the only portion of the original ancient wall that surrounded Suzhou. A short walk to where we boarded boat for our cruise along the large canal and then through the smaller canals for which Suzhou was known as the "Venice of the east".

We went back to Casa Zoe's for breakfast after moving from the Kempinski Hotel back to the Gran Park Hotel for work tomorrow. We then went to visit the Nanshan Temple, and walked around a market area, a bit like Confucius Temple area in Nanjing with small shops and stalls.

We then took a lovely boat trip down the Grand Canal (which we have been on in Hangzhou also), stopping off at a hand-made brick museum. Another lovely day.

Also the tour has been pure luxury in terms of always having a guide and never having to organise anything for yourself! ...

... restaurant was closed?! So we kept on walking down stopping at the cute shops that were along the way. Despite being hungry and all the people it was a really nice atmosphere, I bought a really cool photo display book, a notebook and of course postcards from a nice bookshop. We did end up finding somewhere to eat but it was in no way as good as that other restaurant would have been hahaAfter eating we resumed our walk along canals, there were people getting special boat rides ...
