The Last Day - the trip home 30/3/2014 & 1/4/2014
I've started writing this at Sydney Airport, 9.15 am 1st of April, April Fools Day. Genelle, Mark and I are waiting for Dale and Pauline to arrive, they flew Thai via Bangkok and we flew Singapore via Singapore. For most of the trip from Phuket I've had a headache from the cold and sitting …
Day 9 - 28/3/2024 Thailand - the wind down
Surprise surprise, as Gommer Pyle used to say, its hot again today, but the forecast says a storm for Phuket tonight, Friday Night (A little in joke - the muay thai boxing trucks trawl the streets with their loud speakers On high - in dramatic tones - with emotion - saying "Friday night, tonight, muay …
One hundred days ago Ivan and Vlad embarked on their Great Adventure. And now we are enjoying our last day, number 101, in the Aussie Bar watching the Melbourne Cup. We are not looking forward for it all ending, but we are looking forward to seeing everyone back home again. There's not a lot to tell from the last three days in Patong. Saturday was …
... photos for the last few entries due to the hard drive issue. Pete still has his from the last week, but Lizzie has none from that time and neither of us have any from the first three weeks. Hopefully, we’ll find somewhere to recover the data in Australia, otherwise it will have to wait until August when we get back.
We went to bed, glad the day was over, but looking forward to our few days in Phi Phi. Assuming we can find accommodation, that ...

The reception was efficient and catered to our request to have our rooms side by side. The rooms were poolside and lived up to expectation, howver you had to be early some days to get a lounge by the water. One issue we found was a group of fellow Australians, mainly young, every afternoon, took over the pool playing volleyball, throwing footbals, jumping and dowing bombs from the walls around the pool. They should had been pulled up by the staff as it was distracting and impacted on other guests staying that side of the hotel.
Poolside service by "jump" was terrific.
This is ideally located and nearvthe action but the rooms are very quiet.

The Best Hotel In The Heart Of Patong - Excellent
This hotel was just the best, I have been to Phuket 5 times and i have stayed at the Patong Beach Hotel, Patong Merlin Hotel, Horizon Beach Hotel & the Patong Beach Resort, and Hands down this hotel is the best out of all of them.... The rooms are big, clean & Very modern, The Pool has two swim up bars, your rooms are cleaned twice a day and in the evening they come to turn down your bed, Also leather day sofa's on the balcony and also leather day lounge in room, The hotel also has a Day Spa, Which we went to and it was just Bliss, If you are going to Phuket, I would not look past this hotel..., Just the Best
We stayed here in November 2004, before the tsunami...but this is a fantastic property! Very beautiful rooms done in a clean, modern style...white with dark wood. Pools are lovely as well, and what a great location! Right across the street from the beach, though the property is set back from the street so there's no traffic noise.
Really loved our stay here...can't remember what we paid because we booked a pretty cheap package from Hong Kong that included breakfast too...which is an awesome buffet.
I've checked out the website for the newly refurbished hotel post-tsunami and it looks just as fabulous, plus they have a spa now!!
Highly recommend this place.
I was fortunate to stay at this hotel just before the Tsunami...and i have to say this hotel was truely magnificant. The room decor was beautiful...rooms extremely clean and every evening a Thai Lily was placed on the pillow case. The pool was truely unreal...there was two pools and they were the entire length of the hotel....and trust me that is long. The pool was very well kept ...always plenty of space and what was the best was the jacuzzi style sun loungers in the pool...yes in the pool. I would definitely go back to this hotel. The location was perfect across Patong beach and only a mere 10 min walk from all the nightlife..This hotel is truely one of Patongs well kept sercrets...i have never seen it featured in a brochure...but was recommended it by my travel agent. Best holiday in Thailand without a doubt.
Clean, Beautiful, Excellent Service, - Highly Recommended
Was recommended to it by the travel agent, always fully booked. Conveniently very near to Patong beach. Good breakfast. Clean room with excellent pool view, some rooms on ground floor have balcony directly to the pool, imagine just jump out of your balcony to the pool!
When we arrived, we were handed wet towels and welcome drink, sat at the reception lounge and being checked in without having to queue. Great service at mere 1400Baht!
Room was very clean n pleasant, with a day bed. Bathroom also very clean. Sad to hear tsunami hit it but this means new rooms! Definitely will go again.
Excellent resort & location
From lobby to room is very beutifully designed. The rooms were very well designed and clean unlike many other resorts in Patong i've stayed in. They also have one of the nicest pool i've ever seen. The location is also the best for those who wants to do everything in Patong. Centrally located in Patong and the beach in just aross the road. This is one of the best resort i've ever stayed in and definately the best value for money too.
