This morning we depart Jasper for Banff, the Elk had been through the town that night and had helped themselves to the flowers in the gardens at the Hotel. We were told that the Elk like to come into the town as it's relatively safe from bears who shun the town. So they say! We stopped at the Columbia Icefields and had a group photo taken before boarding an Ice Explorer (bus) to the Athabasca Glacier where we nearly froze to death but it was worth it. Afterwards we stopped for a look at Bow L...
Banff, Alberta, Canada christine.stoneIt is a glorious day today, nice and sunny and we enjoyed a sleep in and a walk into the town before joining a tour at 11.30am to the Gondola where we rode to the top of Sulphur Mountain for a great view. In the evening we went to the dinner show "Canada Eh" and we both enjoyed it.

... water but it was all quite successful apparently.
We travelled through four National Parks today - Mount Revelstoke, Glacier, Yoho and Banff. The scenery was magnificent. The leaves are starting to turn so there are great patches of gold amidst the green. There are also some very big patches of red, which looks pretty but isn't so good. Here in Canada a little migrant from South America called a Pine Beetle is creating havoc. No-one ...
... a rap artist from California who gave me some of his cd's, an ex prison mate (who surprisingly was probably one of the nicest people I've met, with the best manners!), this random art sculpturerer (whatever they're called!!) who had an exhibition on there and so on!
After Vegas I went to San Diego. I pretty much went there for the Zoo, which in my opinion isn't any better, in fact my biased opinion is that Melbourne zoo is far more better, and more suited to the ...
Loved Revelstoke if we could we would live here. Anyway off to Lake Louise we thought we would probably just check out the hotel and move on to Banff. We loved Lake Louise it has a great hostel there great for any travelling family, we liked the idea that we were not just staying in a hotel all cramped up, but ...
Lake Louise, British Columbia, Canada wayneb... cliffs. To the left is crowfoot glacier, where a century ago, the crowfoot glacier had three toes of ice. Since then the glacier has melted back and the lower toe has been lost. These days the middle toe is disappearing too. Bow Summit is the highest point on the road where we stopped and after a short uphill walk from the parking area Peyto Lake came into view. It is supposedly the bluest lake which is glacially-fed and was a ...
Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada barbo... you'll see why Lake Louise is so photographed...it is such a beautiful site, but it is also the hiking capital of Canada...so you see lots of hikers all about. Lake Louise was named in 1884 for Princess Louise, the sixth child of Queen Victoria. We ate lunch in the Chateau Lake Louise, one of the old resort hotels built by the Canadian Pacific Railroad to lure people to ...
A bukkanókon nehezen összevakart 180-akra itt oda se néznek, Martin viszont ...
Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada kjozsa... Construction of the road began in 1931 when the Canadian government put unemployed men to work for 20 cents a day, during the Great Depression. The single-lane gravel Banff to Jasper road opened in 1940. During the 1950s/60s the tourist boom helped to widen and pave the road, and give it it's present name. We set out in -30 degree weather and had our first experience of "in car frosting". Joe handed us frost scrapers to scrape off the ...
