... show their pictures and give the good news. As we left for the day, we warned the naturalists that they had set the bar high and we would expect a tiger in the morning.

The next morning, the four of us went out on another jeep safari in the rain. The Indian family had shown up, so the other naturalist went with them. The safari started at around 6:30 in the morning, and I was not excited to be up before the sun, but I soon felt that it was worth it as we ...
Nagarhole, Karnataka, India jdn86... so we were excited .........and looking forward to getting out of the city and having some relax time .........at nearly 6 months into our trip we thought our bodies deserved a rest.
The bus journey was memmorable! No way would this route be open to buses back home in England ......not even cars .......it was more a tractor route through the forest .........the bus had to slow down to a crawl............we tipped to the left and tipped to the right ...
Kalpetta, Kerala, India nickmofry... It has many pillars, on which one can find exquisite carvings. In the inner sanctum one can get a feel of a past era. Everything about it is exactly as it was built more than thousand years ago. There are no historical data as to who built this temple. But it is believed that a succession of kings worked on it. The Papanasini river is close by and one can also see a Shiva temple which is in a small cave.

I found the whole place resonant with history and spirituality.
To this end they grow their own food and apply many energy saving techniques to their facilities. They even provide organic soaps!

Although I visited in the height of the rainy season there was still plenty to do, including onsite badminton, when rain didn’t stop play. I also found the cosy and homely atmosphere a great place to curl up and read a book.

Wayanad, Kerala, India reshubs... me accidentally swallow a red chilli that i had mistaken for a capsicum floating on top of my Aloo Gobi dish. I immediately asked for a bottle of water then a whole cartoon sequence played where i poured water over my tongue and it dripped onto the carpet below. Then i filled the glass in front of me and stuck my tongue in it until the burning sensations subsided. Classic. With not much chance of more wildlife viewing i left the next day to meet Nadine in Kochi on the coast.
Wayanad, Kerala, India inoursuitcase... on feet because that would make our journey more adventurous. It was mesmerizing view. Guide said that the cave was formed by large crack in the huge rock. We entered the cave and food items were not allowed inside the cave so I kept everything out. The cave has three chambers. The writings and carvings on the cave was amazing, I ve never seen such a carving in my life. I figured out the drawings on the caves had knifes, sword, stones etc which was all historical. I and nick had a great ...
Wayanad, India sakina123... gin & tonic. Each room had a fireplace that we enjoyed each night with our bottle of wine. Ooty is a bustling town famous for it's chocolate. First thing we did was stock up. The kids enjoy Ooty for the bookstores and the Savoy for the pony rides and nightly games on the lawn around the bonfire. The clear mountain air is also a pleasant change from the noise of the city. On our second ...
