... even better views, but when I got to a narrow ledge possibly 40cm wide with a sheer drop on both sides I froze. Did I mention I am no good with heights. The sure footed guide took my poles and hand and guided me accross the precipate, if i went over at least I'd have company.
(There has just been a series of explosions nearby my hotel in Kuta, not hearing sirens, so hopefully just fireworks)
The journey back across the mountains wasn't quite as bad as the way to Pai but still not great. We changed minibus at Chiang Mai and headed north. It was a pretty trouble free drive and we got into Chiang Rai at about 9/9:30 we got checked into our hostel and were greeted very warmly by Tim. She showed us to our room and we went straight out to grab some food from the walking street. We didn't however have much luck there and settled for a cheap restaurant. ...
... in the town of Seminyak, but the towns of Legian and Kuta are super close walking distance so we can explore all 3 areas at once. We settled into the hotel and head out to do just that. We basically spent all day just wandering around, shopping, stopping for lunch, drinks, coffee. We are getting really good at the hussel and bargaining dance . ... Before sneaking back to see the elephants one last time and heading back to the hostel. It was such an incredible day, thanks to my Mum who treated me for my bday. Holis was still in bed, she was super sad she missed out. But I shared my photos with her and we snuggled up for a quick nap before grabbing food and getting our flight. ... After some more photos we walked slowly back to the car and drove back to Kutu, arriving after 9pm back at the hotel so it was a late dinner and straight to bed for another full day tomorrow.
The next morning Kabek was late again, but only a little thankfully so we were going to make the Barong Dance performance which is what we missed the day before due to Kabek being too late. The Dance was traditional Balinese style detailing a story of their folk law which was ...
