Third Time's A Charm

... We hear these places are beautiful though so maybe if we make it here a fourth time around we will actually see the country. The forecast for our time in Bali has been thunderstorms everyday. Thankfully there was only one epic downpour day and a few welcomed clouds for the duration of our time here. It has been pretty humid but that's probably due to the thunderstorm that never came. The sunshine and warmth has certainly beat hanging around in wet, cold ...

... bring bags or food with us but we opened our palms and walked through. Not sure if monkeys can sense fear like dogs can. The monkeys were moving back and forth across our path, sometimes for food and sometimes as part of a fight with another monkey. We knew that we'd need to find an Indomart with the ...

... inland in a place called Ubud. Best described as a small French esc town, Ubud was certainly picturesque. We arrived late into the evening on the 22nd, rain pouring and with very little street light, great difficulty finding the Homestay. After a short while we found it, and quickly made it to the check-in area, or shall we say desk in a court yard. No one there to greet us, it wasn't looking great. These are the moments that we will remember back on - the, ...

Perhaps I tempted fate with my comments about how peaceful it is here. The cockerals were our first alarm call, at around 5:30am, and our snooze alarm was the adjacent little temple, literally metres from our bedroom window, with chanting and bell ringing, that went on for ages, clearly making sure that we got up before they stopped. The breakfast lady came to our bungalow a little later to see what we wanted for breakfast, we could have eggs anyway we wanted, and a choice of fruit. ...
