Yes - I did actually arrive in Bali after a one day delay due to Mt Raung sending more volcanic ash into the sky and towards the Denpasar ariport. My airline - Virgin - was cautious enough to cancel all flights to Bali that day. And for that I am grateful to Virgin Airlines. Also grateful for the way they communicated the delay, reason for and arranged an alternate flight the next day.
Yet still ... there were lots of grumpy people in the check-in queue.

Yesterday everybody left. We checked out of the villa and went to Kudeta for a relaxed goodbye, the group gradually being reduced over the day. The news about an Air Asia airplane having disappeared from the radar just off the cost on a flight from Jakarta to Singapore makes everybody slightly nervous. But statisically we are OK now. We had a wonderful time at the villa with excellent food, swimming, massages and we enjoyed our mutual company. Slept a ...

Rained Out in Bali

... after which it would clear up and be great again. Sure, some of the rain came down hard, but not for very long usually.

In Bali (and other places since then), it has been more rain than clear skies, and significantly so. That has put a damper on things, literally, like climbing or even seeing the tops of volcanos, as well as the various other activities that tend to fill my days. Not good, but it is what it is.

Bali has ...
