Eight hours from a taxi, to a mini van, to a ferry to a pickup truck taxi and we are here! Palm trees and monkeys and elephants standing in stalls ready to take tourists for a ride, the two of us on a motorbike, gasoline sold roadside in liquor bottles, and waterfalls and beaches. We are the only people staying in one of the hundreds of oceanfront …

We're off at 7.15am and at. Bedtime the two nearest bars to our room are playing live music. I consider my earplugs but then will I hear the ...

We spent the next day at the beach, well prepared for any torrential rain with our waterproof sack for electricals. When it seemed like the storm was upon us, we hid all our stuff under an abandoned hut and sat in the water to wait it out...this one missed us but all around us we could see the rainy haze. That eve, the boys had their tattoos finished and were very pleased with the results.
