    Well, most fish are friends, not so much the jelly fish, they hurt! Tioman is a really stunning place, with reefs and lots to see in the waters surrounding the island. We've been out on a few trips on the boat with Wasabi (local guide) who is very knowledgeable about the area and it’s been fantastic, with the exception of the jelly fish as one day we literally swam into a pile of them and got stung all over our arms and ...

    ... The main aim of the project is to prevent eggs from getting taken by poachers and give the turtles a good environment to lay their eggs. It is very daunting at first because everyone seems so knowledgable about turtles and the project.     I am happily from 6 hours on TIONMAN Island, south of the Malaysian east coast, half an hour by hydrofoil from the port of Mersing reached after 3 hours by bus from Johor Bahru and an hour and a half by train and bus from Singapore.I am in a small town on the coast they call ABC, with their mania of acronyms.     ... beach and rocks through the floorboards in places, best to not drop anything! Also as john found out, best not to leave your windows open and any food, say an apple, on the side or else the monkeys will pop in and help themselves to it!

    ... has laid some rope so we pull ourselves up. After another hour we are really tired and see a sign, "this is not monkey bay" great! so after another quick stop we carry on. Some others are walking in the other directing, one has bare feet!! Crazy, it's already ridiculous in flip flops. The views are still amazing and they drive us on. Another 45 mins and after even more climbs and descents we see two more people. I ask how far to monkey bay is, they are heading ...
