Our Golden Gate bridge biking adventure

A travel blog entry by maryham on Dec 29, 2014

We took the ferry from Larkspur to the San Francisco ferry building this morning then picked up rental bikes for our big Golden Gate bridge adventure. Since we had a whole day, we decided to do some of the Golden Gate Park near the bridge. Unfortunately, the map didn't show how hilly it was so we cut it short when we got to the top of a hill and …

A travel blog entry by maryham on Dec 28, 2014

After breakfast, we packed up and farewelled the lovely Hotel Carlton. We were all excited to …

Here we had our first real unpleasant experience involving a homeless person. There have been homeless people everywhere we have gone on this trip. I had expected this but was not prepared for the very high homeless population in San Francisco. It really was shocking. From some reading I've done since ...

... warned about. We were told it would be an experience, to be careful, and not to walk home from the BART station. All went very smoothly until about halfway through the ride home when a voice came on the loudspeaker indicating that our destination stop was closed due to police activity. We got off a stop early and picked up an uber from there.

The following day was another action-packed touristing adventure. We started by wandering around Muir ...
