      ... arent they. We checked out balboas candy store where I brought my dad a lollypop. Whats the point in bring that up? Well it has a real scorpion in the middle that you are expected to eat at the end. (similiar to a tequila worm I guess, only less alcoholic and more sugerary.) Teehee hes going to hate it!!       ... 25 degree temperatures but we also haven't experienced the truly pleasant conditions that we had hoped for this vacation. We had the record-setting lows in New Orleans with frozen water and sewer lines and it seems we left Texas just before they got hit with major snowstorms and icy road conditons.

      ... I did help out a bit on the interstates. Most people who go east to west use I-10, but we managed to avoid it most of the way and drove only a couple of hundred miles on it.

      Palm Springs is pretty much as we remembered it, very hot and sunny. We found a great place to stay and checked in for a whole week. It's hard to imagine being in the same bed for 7 nights. We have a kitchen also so ...

      ... but then we sort of expected that, right? Tom is fixing dinner and it is smelling so good I am having a *************centrating on this blog. Claudia is going to her writing workshop this evening so Tom will have to entertain us. Just kidding.

      ... time to relax before heading to Los Angeles.

      Day 2

      Today ended up being the most non-eventful day for me so far this holiday, mainly because I was up all night sick. As unpleasant as it was, I'm grateful that it happened here staying several nights in Palm Springs, as opposed to being on a road trip in the middle of Peru.

      We tried to sleep late but couldn't really relax that well, possibly because we knew we had to check out in time to move to our new hotel. As ...
