Aston Bali Beach Resort & Spa

We are staying in Bali for 2 weeks! It is nice and tropical here, and the temperature is absolutely perfect. We are staying in a rented villa the first week, which is in walking distance of kuta beach. Random Balinese people on the beach have asked to take their picture with me. Probably because I'm a blonde American so therefore I'm 'exotic' in …
It rained all morning in Gili T, but I put on my parka and explored the area of the island where the locals live before catching my speedboat back to Bali. I'm *****ing to myself about being sick of taking showers in cold, brackish well water and look forward to a hot shower back in Kuta with water that doesn't taste like salt. Then I see an old …
I kept debating what to do this day... go snorkelling, or go to get a free 90 minute massage that came with my trip, and spend the day in Kuta. The second option won out. No regrets. The massage was great.... why didn't I do more of this??? :)
How has this resort rated in the past?
This was a great place to stay at. It was definitely worth 5 stars. The rooms were very very nice. There was a huge pool. The hotel had their own private beach, meaning my mom could leave me alone at the beach and not have to worry about people bothering or trying to sell things to me. They gave free transports to Kuta every day, if you wanted to go there for shopping or tours. The breakfast buffet was also great; it was huge with tons of different food choices. We did an hour long yoga class here that was great, and the instructor really made sure I worked my muscles. There are also a few restaurants and a million different massage places in short walking distance. I cannot say anything bad about this place, except for the fact that the yoga class and restaurant were kind of expensive, and the massage was way overpriced for being in Bali. But if you want a massage, there are tons of places in walking distance that all charge about $6 for an hour. Great experience, you should really stay here.

Historical Traveler Reviews Aston Bali Beach Resort & Spa Tanjungbenoa
We've just returned from a week at the Aston Bali. It completely exceeded our expectations. It offered great service, excellent food, a beautiful beach front, pool, and spa amenities, all in a medium-sized hotel.
Love the Aston
Hi all, My wife and I were married at the Aston in Aug 2003 and have been back for our anniversary each year and going again this year, we can not say enough about all the wonderful help and stress free time we had leading up to the wedding, All the staff were great and they remember us every time we go back. The hotel , in my opinion, is maybe a little dated but all the services and staff far outweigh any negatives that some people will find. Meals are good, service great, rooms very very comfortable.
We stayed at the Aston for a week & were very pleasantly surprised, especially considering what we paid to stay there. We were told that it's a good 3* hotel & found it to be just that. The staff were just lovely, and treated us & our kids so well. The buffet breakfasts were very good, with a wide variety of food, but it didn't change much at all during the week we were there.
Loved the Aston
Just back from 10 days staying at this lovely resort it was an awesome place. Room was huge with a huge soaker tub and seperate shower. Room over looked the pool and ocean. The food was excellent. The staff where all so friendly and helpful. The hotel supplies a shuttle into Kuta. The pool is like a bathtub and the grounds and hotel are excellent this is a 5 star place and right on a beautiful beach. My husband and I would be back in a flash and in fact plan on going back next year. Colleen from Victoria British Columbia
No where to walk
the Aston Bali was disapointing for us as the Hotel although lovely could have had the dirt removed from the woodwork in the rooms and the food in the Bali Luna resturant and the Poolside buffet could have been better but worse was the Pavements outside the front of the Hotel were not laid and holes everywhere for about half a mile making it virtually impossible to go for a stroll along the very busy street without having to dodge traffic at all times even to cross the road was dangerous.
The good thing about the hotel was everyone who worked there was so very nice and helpful and the beach and pool and gardens were well cared for.
We stayed at the Aston Bali from Mar 20 through 23, 2005. We went there because we were advised that it is a 5 star resort. To our dismay we found it is, at best, a 3 star. The hotel and grounds are attractive but quite small and there are very limited amenities at the hotel. The pool is small as is the beachfront and the food is a bit above average. The staff were great; very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very large, especially the bathrooms with separate shower stall and large soaker tub. Unfortunately the rooms we were in (after moving from the rooms initially given us which looked directly at the concrete wall of the neighbouring hotel rather than into the gardens as per our reservation!) had a horribly strong musty and moldy odour. The wall beside our bed had mold patches and dry rot crumbling the plaster. We were eventually offered other rooms but they all had a strong odour also. Our son started reacting to the mold so we decided to move hotels (we went to the Melia Bali, about 1 mile south, in the Nusa Dua area). The hotel management does not seem to realize or they just don't care that mold is a health problem and can cause serious respritory problems for some people.
Loved the Aston Bali
Just returned from a 12 day stay at the Aston Bali Hotel in Nusa Dusa. What a beautiful well cared for hotel it was! There was every convenience you could ask for. The hotel staff were gracious and did everything to make your vacation wonderful. The meals were excellent, the service fabulous. The swimming pool was out of this world and the ocean was right there sand kept very clean. I can't wait to return.
My wife Maggie and I stayed at the Aston bali for 10 nights in novemebr 2004 and were delighted with this mediun sized beachfront hotel. With 187 rooms it is large enough for the services and amenities you would look for on vacation but avoids the impersonal people crush of a larger hotel. If you are looking for a high energy action packed vaction do not come to this hotel!..however, if you enjoy an intimate atmosphere with the highest level of service and reasonable prices, very friendly staff and superaltive surrounding, then you will be hard pressed to find anywhere better than the Aston Bali.
This hotel exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly and willing to assist us whenever we asked. Our room was clean and comfortable with ample storage space and a nice little balcony. The grounds and pool were beautiful. Don't miss walking along the paved beach path at sunrise. Some mornings the sky was unbelieveably red. At sunrise many of the hotel's staff are busy sweeping the sand, scrubbing the tile in the pool, and tending to the flowers. The complimentary breakfast buffet has a wide selection of foods including eggs cooked to order. The coffee service at breakfast was good every morning except one. That morning the restaurant was filled with a large, demanding group eating before their tour and the staff seemed overwhelmed.
