    ... by the time we got to Chamonix at 4:45pm; Bill's left knee was very sore Karin stayed in town all day & was feeling better; She later out on a large square bench in a park.     ... taking for me coming down the steep bank on my bum, not very lady like I have to say...

    We stopped off before we went into the tunnel to take some more photos and a drink. No Queues so we went straight in, they are very strict on speed and no over taking.

Eventually her friends came in and when her meal was set in front of her she walked over and plopped some of it on each of our plates so that we could try it. Her name is Nanou and she was a hoot. The owner told me later that she comes in every Sunday and sits in "her" booth---the table in the front window where she can see who comes and goes --- she made our meal very memorable.     ... spent 2 days travelling back to UK and again decided to take the back roads and avoid the tolls.
