We have arrived in Kamala which is a very sweet town just south of Phuket airport... Our last 4 nights are gonna be in luxury with this 4 star resort... We have hot running water, matching bathrobes and slippers, tea and coffee in the room, a flat screen tv on the wall, comfy beds.....and the only thing we have to think about now is which infinity …

over you. The room sounds very basic ( and it was) but by the end of the day you were so buggered you'd just pass out anyway. You'd be woken up at 4am to monks chanting and ringing bells, elephants calling out and the locals starting to cook for the day. Elephants chat away all day and night long. And after a day or two you get to know what each call ...

We went middle of the road and decided on a boat and canoe tour of Phang Nga Bay, a Thai cooking class, and an elephant trek. We tossed aside diving for another time since we were far from the dive sites, its rainy season, and we already have excellent diving in the Philippines. It can wait for another time. The staff here are incredibly friendly; within walking distance (20 minutes) to Kamala beach, excellent food at the restaurant for breakfast and dinner.
