... yes again!) and then set off to properly explore the old town. The traveler's guide had a great map with a walking route and little blurbs about all the landmarks. We explored the underground palace which was really cool and then walked up the bell tower to look over the whole town. I marched straight up the rickety stairs while Darcy clung to the handrail slowly following behind. The view was amazing! Afterwards we headed to Gaga bar for an afternoon drink. ...

So after 6 days of perfect alpine September weather - blue skies, warm temperatures - October dawns grey and cloudy. But we are going south, so set off in positive spirits! We have decided to use the motorway for the first part of the trip - we need to get some miles .- er kilometres that is - under our collective belts and we know the northern part of Slovenia quite well. Hadn't counted on the one way traffic in the Karawanken tunnel though, but the half hour wait didn't ...

... like to cruise at a steady 120 km/h but due to boredom, I found myself doing more like 130 to 140! Mind you the Mercs, Beemers and Audis still passed me. ... had a lovely meal tonight (some of the best food we have had in Croatia) and then went for a walk around the town. Tonight is our last night in croatia a tomorrow we head off to Italy.

This country is gorgeous and we have loved every minute of it. For anyone who has a travel bucket list - put it up towards the top!

Thanks again for the comments .

A fab sail up the 17 miles with the wind just dieing as we pulled into Punat to have a look around before going of to Krk main town for the evening. A great safe bay with monastry and marina , worth noting for return trip! On arrival in Krk we drop anchor outside to test if safe but end up picking it up and heading onto town quay as think we may go out and have few beers whilst inspecting the old town. Another lovely old town and good ...
