The Staff were wonderful and spoke English very well. They were helpful and the rooms were very clean and maintained impeccably. The pool is beautiful with a lovely view and ample space. There are baby pools and playgrounds for visitors with small kids. The Breakfast Buffet is an amazing spread with something for everyone.

Best place to stay in Ao Nang

After a lot of research we decided to stay at Aonang Villa Resort and we could not have chosen a better place! The resort is situated on the beach (only with a small pedestrian walk way separating the resort from the beach sand. The rooms were comfortable and the service friendly. There is a lovely pool with a bar inside the pool if you want to cool down with a cold one in your hand. The hotel offers spa treatments at very good prices and can also organise tours from the front desk.

The busy part of the village where all the restaurants and markets are, are about 100m down the walkway and quaint beach restaurant and a whole lot of beach massage "huts" are about 100m in the other direction down the beach.

We had a room with a sea and pool view. It's definitely one of the best located resorts in the village and would recommend it to all!

... and see what the real world holds.

For now I just have one more trip to make on my journey. I've decided to head home after the next adventure. I'm heading to Nepal to do the Everest base camp 3 passes trek. It will be a big change from the beach bum life I've been living and push my physical and mental boundaries for 17 days trekking in the Himalaya. After, well, it may be time to head home and see where life takes me.

          See you in Nepal folks.

We packed our things early doors, rather than leave it last minute as per usual, as we had an early start the next day. Once we packed and had our showers we went out to a nearby sports pub to get some din dins and watch my beloved brentford lose to middlesbrough :-(. Any way, nothing a little beer can't help with! But not too late as the bus was leaving for Penang at 6.40. Malaysia here we ...

A tuk tuk (a motorcycle with a metal cart attached to one side) took us to our hotel. Actually motorcycles with side cars are very common here. The side cars are very handy. They can be a refreshment stand that can be parked at any beach, an easy way to transport items, an ice cream vendor's ...

Natalie made a slightly disparaging remark about them being Chinese tourist boats and they just want to sit in the water, which was sort of funny. It's sort of strange to think of a stereotype of an entire country of people, with a fairly significant shoreline, not knowing how to swim. I'm always surprised when I meet an American who doesn't know how to swim, even though ...
