    ... settled, we went out to the beach right in front of our place, called Shell Beach. It's called Shell Beach because it's literally made of shells. All of it. No sand. Most of the shells are crushed up to the size of peas or smaller, no sharp edges, but higher up on the beach there were full shells. Fascinating. How did all these shells get here?

    ... you a 100% bone-fide traveler these days. (replace that for cut off shorts, vest top, bandana and thigh tattoo if you are a girl) The place was ghastly at first sight. Kebab shops, bucket stalls, 7-elevens and tattoo shops had replaced hermit crabs, empty beaches, dirt tracks and no wi-fi.     ... from the crew. Truly incredible to peer out the window at the dilapidated shacks along the tracks. It's hard to believe humans can survive in those conditions, yet every so often there would be a satellite dish propped on top of a corrugated tin roof that was dipping down into the gully. Wild.     ... hammocks at The Drunken Sailor and the other cool bars on the island and they came from the Hammock House in Lanta Old Town. It was the first shop on the Main Street so we spent some time trying all the lush hand made hammocks. Every house needs to have a Hammock House hammock in their life! So cool and relaxing. In krabi town we also saw a crazy religious ritual in the middle of the street where local men and women were cutting themselves and putting poles and umbrellas etc through their actual cheeks and chanting.
