Day 46 Exploring Krabi Islands and more!

... a bit tough because the trail does not have any lights and there are some missing steps so you have to be extra careful. We all made it in one piece and headed to "The Last Fisherman" a cute little resturant on the beach. Then, we got cocktails and walked along the beach and did a bit of bar hoping. Lena and Joe played pool while Maricel and I shopped for a new bathing suit. I only packed two and I ...

... used the motor, but it was so slow that it seemed as if we were just drifting along. No matter. Along the way, we passed a fleet of longtail boats "fishing" (read: scooping) for huge jellyfish. I guess they eat them? Then after he had sweated and strained he gave us water and a wet wipe to cool ourselves as we got to ...

... the Vietnam war are evident here too. American GI's spent their off-time in Thailand as they tried to mask the effects of war on their psyche. Beer is still cheap and plentiful, prostitutes crowd around neon lit bars, and lady-boys prance in the street like phantasmagorical ponies-turned-unicorns. In a setting with all it's distractions, as ultra exotic and super natural as Krabi is, today my thoughts and this post are for Cambodia.

... that done. Elephants are massive. I got on and was encouraging beano even thought I wasn't so sure my self. We got on and all was fine. We set off. We went up through the jungle to a waterfall and back down. We won't be going on a elephant ever again! I was terrifying especially when we started going down a very steep hill to get back! Not fun at all! We came back and had the rest of the day swimming then walked down the ...
