We where up at 5am so we could see the sunrise at the overlook and it was worth it. We don't have far to drive only 100 miles but have a number of stops of the way so guess what it takes ALL DAY. We get into camp at 8pm.

Our fishing guides arrived at 7:30 AM, which translated that we had to get up early. We all had to bundle up since the temperature was in the fifties-- brrrr--ordinarily not bad weather but it was chilly on the river! Jim & I fished with Kevin & Roger & JC fished with Lou. The first couple hours we caught trout after trout. Jim did his own casting but Kevin cast for me every time. Jim says that means I really didn't catch the ...

... cranberry/feta cheese spinach salad. All of that would have been sufficient, but Shane grilled steaks & salmon for us too. Add to that a medley of fresh vegetables & grilled new potatoes. But wait... You can't have a meal like that without dessert! Shane served us angel food cake topped with lemon curds, whipped cream & strawberries .
I have no idea how we managed to push ourselves away from the table ...

The state park is good, lots of trees. The fishing near the dam is weak, but your campsite is right on the river. I saw no fish in 2 days of fishing.
