QIC first day - arrival in Siem Reap

Obstacle happened when we reached the airport... Being blocked by the imigration due to declaration of our exhibition attributes. Need to open the whole box and show the stuffs one by one...

Then finally we hopped on to the MPV and checked in to the hotel.

Noel and I in the MPV. Weather was damn hot.

Conquering Ta Prohm

After a hard day work and the cheerings of winning the Champion of QIC09 APAC session SiemReapII), finally we're off to sightseeing on the 3rd day in Siem Reap!!

We're being grouped with our jurys in the same bus for English speaking guided tour. Frankly speaking, the extrovert gang in the same bus. Mr.Long our tour guide gave very detailed explaination on the history of Siem Reap. I did not pay pretty much attention to the details but one thing that I'm very sure of is tha...

Bayon

Our second destination of the day after leaving Ta Prohm was Bayon.

I only realized that the color of all our Bayon photoshoot was quite different from those photos taken by my friends. Majority of the photos that I saw were having more brownish color but surprisingly ours are very much like shooting stone statues.

Now I know why... because we're freaking crazy to visit Bayon at 12pm! Photoshooting always gives the best effect during noon time (natural light) whe...

Tonle Sap Lake - the river of life

This was one of the most touching scene that I've seen during my trip in Siem Reap.

What were you doing when we're 8 years old? Complaining about outdated Gameboy, no KFC for tonight dinner, too much homework to do...

What about him... every single penny earned is for his family's next meal.

They kept trying to outdo their predecessors, so the temples get “bigger and better” and the architectural styles are different, since that changed over the 400 years!

We could just not ...

I Left Cambodia and Lived to Tell this Story

... no mortar. But that fact alone does not blow the temples of South America out of the water: the sheer complexity, size, and amount of temples does. The park takes space along hundreds of square kilometers with countless number of temples. Once you were done with one it was another 5-10 minute ride to another. It was endless and I was shocked at the end of the day to not be finished seeing it all.

After day one we stumbled back into the hostel to get a bite to ...

Nel pomeriggio, relax in camera perche' fuori oggi fa davvero molto caldo. Usciamo verso sera per un ultimo giro in centro... domani probabilmente saluteremo la Cambogia.

Amazing Angkor

In for the photographic kill

... which I have to say was simply disgusting. I felt absolutely horrid but we still had more to do. We were taken to the bottom of the mountain where, if we climbed we would see carved "Lingas" in running waters - the entire area is called Kbal Spean. Lingas are essentially phallic statues that the Cambodians believe promote purity if you shower under the waterfall, in which the waters have passed through these lingas. The ascent involved climbing over ...
