... There was an ordinary type seat, a small sink and barely enough floor space for our luggage. It was also weirdly extremely cold! We had paid extra to go 1st class with our own cabin and were pretty glad we had! Tourist were all over the island with many riding scooters - some well and some more in circles. Lanta Old Town has a great pier and a small street with restaurants and small shops. ... or BBQ nights. BBQ night was particularly memorable. A storm hit the island which cut the power for the rest of the evening, and BBQ night turned into soggy lettuce and tomato night avec a lot of Chang beer to compensate the hunger void. A lock-in with candle light and karaoke followed (naturally!), and the 'be your own barmaid' attitude made what started out as a shambles of a dinner out turn into one of the most memorable nights in Thailand. ... the bungalows which turned out to be a lie but it was pretty good around reception and the pool so decided that would do! The resort was like a proper holiday you'd come to for 2 weeks. It had a lovely pool, bar, restaurant, warm showers, a tv, all the standard things a hotel has just not when you're travelling! It was so clean and modern we felt spoilt! ... cliff, we were given life vests, and then we jumped off the boat and were told to follow our guide who, intriguingly, was wearing a head torch. We followed him into a cave entrance at the cliff bottom, and all the way in... The mouth of the cave was amazing in it's colour - illuminated only by the colour of the water that filled it.
