... two with the guests.
The next day was so relaxing. We eat breakfast to the sound of waves gently lapping the shore and feel the sun on our skin. Around 9.00am, we set off in a longtail boat for Ko Hong, an island with two white 'bounty' beaches and a breathtakingly beautiful lagoon. The lagoon is a lake formed by the collapse of a huge cave in the middle of the island (Ko Hong means 'room island'). It is ...
... company, we were on the look-out for elephants in chains and saw nothing but happy looking elephants chomping on feed. Obviously, this is what we saw during normal business hours, what the owners wanted us to see. However, no obvious signs of abuse were present…unless you count two burger eating Americans sitting on an elephant’s back for enjoyment…still a little conflicted here.
Let’s take a moment from my moral dilema to discuss safety. Joe ...
... markets and restaurants. Thai food is always delicious, generous servings and lots of veges. You can't beat the price either. No complaints here! "Bit of a shame everyone in Kata are on their honeymoons..." I think to myself at dinner. But hey, beggars can’t be choosers. I get the hype, I see it now. Phuket is great! Ah Phuket…. You couldn’t possibly have left a better final impression. Next time I visit, I’ll be sure never to leave the hotel….
Phuket, Thailand caselma... like a maniac and I was scared to run around on it). We head south to Kata Noi and Nai Harn. The views are outstanding...from here we see the beaches up the coast and just how azure blue the ocean is. We pass street signs warning that there is an elephant crossing ahead-since we are used to seeing a symbol of a deer and not an elephant, we crack up. We also come across some small secluded beaches that would be nice to ...
Phuket, Thailand douglouise... had a fight and was defending his Southern Thailand Championship. Dee had been training for weeks for his fight..and everybody at the gym was quite excited about it. Normally..when there are fights involving our gym...it's usually the students fighting. Either on a Tuesday night, Friday night..or even Sunday night at a dingy hole of a stadium called Bangla Stadium in Patong. During those fights..the fight cards usually have 10 matches..and of those matches..I would say 3-4 of ...
Phuket, Thailand lannyc... bananas to. We also went to this place called Viking Cave which I thought we were going to explore but no just pointing out this cave where a family of 5 lives and catch a certain fish that Asians use in medicines and which also they believes makes them younger. We then went to Loh Samah Bay where we got to snorkel. I had done this in Hawaii before and it still excites me every time I do it. You can get so ...
Phuket, Thailand nperian... Perhentian Island. But the waters of Phi Phi is emerald green, while the waters of Redang is aquamarine. I was quite disappointed when ...
Phuket, Thailand princesscheryl... and you have to swim into the shore then up through this cave to get onto the island. Theres loads of coral all around the cave and we cut ourselves to ribbons on it - so painful! We had wetsuits on to our knees but below the knee and our hands and feet were all cut badly...we left blood on the beach! Ouch. Later we met up with a crowd of people from Down that we had met in Koh Samui and Railay - we kept bumping into them ...
Phuket, Thailand tomandfran... me to go eat with them. One from Sweden, Denmark, and Canada. The food sucks. I ordered the Tom Yan Goong soup and they asked me if I wanted it spicy. Yes. Big mistake. It was like fire! I ride my back up and over hills on the back way to the bungalow. More burn, more pain. What hasn't kill me is making me stronger... I think. Hard to lose weight when I'm starving all the time... How can I do the detox?
Phuket, Thailand taishan... after breakfast. Our friends joined us and we went snorkeling together (Scott couldn't find a mask to fit his head properly unfortunately, so he missed out, but what I saw was amazing, The coral was nothing to write home about, but the colourful fish were stunning!) After that we came back to the resort and did a cocktail class, where we got to make 4 cocktails (quite potent ones), drink them and then try a shot each of Thai whisky. Scott felt a little bit ...
