We boarded the night train and tried to find our cabin. We walked right to the end of the car and then realised that ours was actually at the end we'd started from. Ko Lanta is rural Thailand at its finest - rice fields, outstanding mountaintop viewpoints, zero shops but plenty of roadside stalls offering fruit and veg grown in the trader's back yards. Tres authentic!
