We boarded the night train and tried to find our cabin. We walked right to the end of the car and then realised that ours was actually at the end we'd started from. Unfortunately the corridor could only fit one person with a backpack and everyone else was coming in the opposite direction. After some squeezing and shoving, entering of a stranger's cabin and having to reverse out apologising and a lot of laughing, we finally found our home for the next 15 hours. It was ...

... Many of the businesses are flying the Swedish flag. It seems that it has come about by word of mouth as no Swede I have asked had a good reason for it. It's not like there are direct flights from Stockholm to Krabi. II headed out on the bike mid day. I managed a good 34KM ride but boy was it hot - as in the sun hurt my arms even with sunscreen on. There were some tropical areas of the island and beaches ...

Ko Lanta is rural Thailand at its finest - rice fields, outstanding mountaintop viewpoints, zero shops but plenty of roadside stalls offering fruit and veg grown in the trader's back yards. Tres authentic!

EAT & DRINK: Ko Lanta is far from tourist-central, so late night bars and choice of restaurants are few and far between. However, the diamonds in the ruff that do exist tend to host either ...

... Whilst on the boat there were people selling accommodation and as we hadn't booked any yet we agreed to go and see somewhere called Lanta Riviera Resort. It was a bit more expensive than we'd been used to paying but it seemed to be the same as Phi Phi with prices and felt like we deserved somewhere nice anyway! We got a free transfer to the resort and having looked around decided immediately to stay there! They'd promise us ...

... which was more of the same but with clearer water. With the snorkelling done and fishes seen, we headed across to another island to see the Emerald Cove. This is a place we'd seen advertised loads and seemed to be a much visited destination for people looking for a real gem of the area.. Pun intended ;-) In my head I imagined that we'd arrive at a beach and walk to a little inlet or something, but what actually happened was that the boat pulled up at the foot of ...
