We got up and out of the hotel just as the sun was rising. It took much less time to get to the airport this time since it was early in the morning and the massive amounts of people hadn't poured into the streets yet. With one last look at everything along the way we said goodbye to India and looked forward to getting to Maldives!!!

Wow! A stunning place! We arrived at our island by speed boat transfer from the airport jetty. They even let Mark drive the speedboat most of the way (slightly scary). A fabulous place and even better we was met by my cousin and her hubby waiting for us at the bar with lots of bubbly. It's lovely to spend time with family and we spent most of the first afternoon and evening ...

Instead they will send me to Fuvahmulah which has 6,000 people and is the second to last atoll down by the Equator. Fuvahmulah is unique in that it just one large island making up its own atoll. I am quite excited at the prospect of living on such a large island ...

... water to Male island. Male and it's surrounding islands had the potential to be the Venice of Asia. Sadly it's more of Slough on Sea. Just shows that despite all the 5 star resorts etc it's still a third world nation really. The ferry was $1 each return and packed with motorbikes first then foot passengers. It took about 30 minutes to cross. We arrived and walked around Male looking for somewhere to eat. Not hugely ...
