We arrived by Air Asia flight from KL, on arrival it was manic the immigration was a total joke, you have to pay $35 each to buy a Visa on entry (VOE) and you also have to pay $20 when you leave called departure tax. We quickly found the one and only fault in Gili island which is the coral which is at the shore and you half to attempt to walk over before entering the deeper sea - we hope this can be avoided with some "sea shoes". The locals are so friendly and everyone seems to bend over backwards to ensure you are happy! I thought Kuta in Bali was my favourite place but I think we have moved on to bigger and better ...
... the day at the pool we walked into Ubud to a tour agency to see what we could book for tomorrow. We got a private driver for the day who will pick us up at 8am and take us North to Lovina, stopping in several locations along the way. We also arranged for a driver to pick us up and drop us off in Nusa Dua on the weekend, as we are staying one night on Saturday in a nicer resort as a treat.
