It was an early start the following day, out at 5:30 to do a boat trip to a few of the surrounding islands and hopefully a chance to see some dolphins. Within 10 minutes of setting sail we was joined by around 15 other boats, we thought that there being so many boats that we would have no chance of seeing any but we was hugely mistaken! We saw loads! Lots of different Groups of up 20 or more dolphins and they was everywhere, some out in ...

Ian and Anna splash about in the sea helplessly, surrounded by sharks, their hearts beating furiously as the giants close on them, their huge mouths gaping...

Okay, calm down. We survive. And the sharks are not the killer Jaws type but gentle giants called Whale Sharks. They are by far the largest living non-mammalian vertebrate and are slow-moving filter feeders, so thankfully they lack the razor sharp teeth as they munch on tiny plankton like whales. Hence ...

... so I’d decided to stay here 2 nights and forego my night in Cebu city. I was told there was nothing there, and since there was absolutely everything here, I was staying here until 5 hours before my flight back to Manila!! I was arranging a trip with a boatman, when a girl who’d been in the Manila guesthouse tapped me on my shoulder. It ended up with two Israelis (herself and her friend), an English guy and his new Filipina bride of two ...
