Up early and out for the day with Bill and Clemente, we are picked up at 0700 on the nose and hit the road - after a quick stop at Starbucks - to head to Solvang. This small Danish town was settled in 1911 and has wonderful character. I will get to that in a minute.
En route we made a pit stop - not your usual pit stop - we detoured into the Chumash Casino for a break. Hey, it's a long drive. We set our clocks to meet back at a designated time and each ...

... so it was time to sleep. I was woken up when we were approaching San Francisco Apple head quarters at Cupertino. I was too sleepy to take any pictures but I did see the buildings.
We stopped at a Chinese buffet place and I told the tour guide that I needed to buy a travel adaptor to charge my I pad and I phone. She told me there was CVS near there and I could buy adaptor while others were having the buffet. But it was much further ...

That put us close to the town of Solvang which we wanted to visit. Solvang was settled by Danish immigrants and ...

... at the edge of a cliff (to avoid the road traffic noise) and each of us moaning how uncomfy it was!

The next day we spent exploring the redwoods and running around being childish, climbing trees, jumping stuff, that old jazz! We ended up in Arcata, a small town in North California which seems to be the hub of the weed growing industry. Young travelers and 'gutter punks' head here for the trimming season which is about to begin so the town is full of people with ...

    Harlan:

Little bit of fog again this morning and cool temps, but also strong winds early. Forecast is for high winds all day. Aragon again has to entertain himself today as we are about to cross off a 'bucket list' of Bonnas-a visit to Solvang. We've heard good things about Solvang. My good friend--RIP--Jerry McMillan had a brother-Andy (RIP)-who was a great man and fabulous cook who lived his last years in ...
