We then drove to Perge, an ancient Greek city founded in approximately 1000 BC. It came to fame during the Roman rule and was one of the leading centers of Christianity. The Apostle Paul mentions it several times in his writings. The ruins show what must have been a fabulous city, complete with hot and cold baths, a sewer system, and a series of sales stalls.

... off we go tomorrow (can't wait to get back on the bike) to Fethiye to meet up with a former work colleague of Brian's Eric and his wife and friends, also, hopefully 2 Korean girls we met up with in Cappadocia. Our 2 weeks at the Sato Hotel have been wonderful, we met Boran, Zeynep and Batuhan last year when we stayed over for 3 nights and definitely wanted to come again this year. We will be very sad to leave them ...

Another 5 hours of driving brought us to the Turkish coast and the city of Anatolya. We had to go over the Taurus Mountain range, which looks surprisingly similar to heading to Squaw - lots of rocks and fir trees. The only difference was that every now and then we would see tents with herders and their goats. Other than that, the highway was quite well built and maintained.

We were waved to a Stop and basically told we could not go any further, "Leave the bike and walk to the hotel." I think,"I do not understand." Is needed here.
