        ... our cell phones or a lot of money because you could be robbed. There is a lot of robbers in the counrty and will rob you if you are not careful. We went to many of the beautiful beaches in the country. We went to the main beaches in La Romana like Dominicus, and Bayahibe. We went to the popular white sand beaches in Punta Cana and we even went to private beaches in Samana in the north of the country. I would recommened any of the beaches.

        ... an active role. Within a few days, she called Cristina (club secretary) with a date for the meeting.

        2 weeks later, we were off to Vasca. The club president Andy took his bike, and he and my temporary American neighbour in Juan Dolio, Derek (more on him later), drove out to the batey together.         ... the kitchen is not very attractive, it does serve the purpose, and is mostly functional. I have been promised a can of paint of my choice to replace the barf green colour...maybe next week!

        I was quite excited about the bathroom, as it had all matching shower curtain, garbage can, cups, etc, and most importantly - a HOT WATER HEATER!!! Yes, I am living a life of EXTREME priviledge...I have hot water!! Also, my bathroom ...

        ... the orphanage would like for every child to have their own small quilt, so that when they leave they will have something to take with them that is meaningful. We are hoping to get a few people from the orphanage to come in to Consuelo to get some training on how to make them, so that they can go back and get started on that without relying on the vocational school's students. So, there are lots of things going on, and when the Dartmouth East club gets here, ...
