    Sawasdee Kahp from Patong.

Just a quickie - been chilling in Patong, Phuket for the last few days.

Saw a great band at a rock/metal club called Rock City at the end of Bangla Road. Tiny Thai chick on vox that could scream the house down and a Steve Vai look-a-like on lead guitar (whom I christened Steve Thai) that shredded like a …

... convinced that we were being kidnapped by this point. Luckily, soon afterwards we had arrived at our destination. Unfortunately when we arrived none of the other guides spoke english. Hired a scooter from hotel, 250 baht for day, filled up petrol from across road and headed south past Karon, stopped at Nai han beach for swim.

Rode up Rang Hill to viewpoint, went to Tung Ka café, great coffee and food.

Stopped for swim at Kata beach on way home

Wanting to dance and experience Phuket like we been told, we finally found a disco. Not only was it nearly empty, but the singer sounded like a dying chicken and the drinks were overpriced. It didn't take long for us to realize that we were on the wrong side of Phuket. The Tourists, parties, bars, ...

... Our first stop was at a beautiful spot where we hopped out of the boat to walk through a cave, opening out to an open air mangrove. We then went to a spot in the actual bay where we transferred into small kayaks, which were driven by locals from the area. Around here is all large cliffs and clear aqua water, just how I imagined it and just amazing! We were taken into small caves called a Hong, which are really spectacular as well. We continued on through the ...
