      ... as high as 120F (49c) - yesterday was 107, but today we were lucky and the cloudy unusual conditions remained all day so it didn't get that hot.
      Stopped at Hadley for morning break - dried fruit of every kind here.

      Leaving here the country flattened out to a sandy desert - lots of wind turbines here and a nuclear power station.

      ... It wasn't until she also yelled 'SYBIL!' that that other person (MY Mom) responded to her. We did NOT plan on meeting up with them this early. My parents were going to be in Palm Springs with us to help celebrate our 50th. We were just so sure our actual rental swap time and their plane arrival time would not match up. But there you are!

      Up at sparrow **** to get the chauffeur driven service to the airport. Picked up at 5 am by Chrysler 300, nice change from a standard taxi. It is now part of QANTAS service if you are flying business class. Flight to Brissy uneventful however the QANTAS Club in Brissy is sadly lacking and not enough seats, food was good though.       Then we were off to the dunes. We saw Dune 45, the most well known dune, and there were at least six busses of people climbing it. We continued on to the biggest dune, Big Daddy.       In mid March, the resort hosted their first annual Awards Night. It was billed as a gala event so everyone was encouraged to dress "to-the-hilt" (as if we're attending the Acadamey Awards). Some showed up in top hats and tails, others with feather shawls and most ladies wore glitzy/ flashy/ sparkly dresses. Some guys impersonated punk rockers or movie stars and dressed the part - miss matched shoes, bed-head hair, baggy pants, ...
