26 hours after our day began in Carp at 2am, we finally rolled into the driveway at the house in Palm Springs that we are renting at about 1am (which is 4am Carp time). Drove over today from Saddlebrooke to Palm Springs. Ended up taking about 6 hours, with potty and lunch breaks. Arrived in time for Happy Hour to visit Jane and Ilene's friend Sandra. She moved to Palm Springs from Chicago after she retired earlier in 2013. Had a wonderful dinner at John Henry in PS. Ilene is staying with Sandra for a few days, while we push on westward.

We were on the road again at 7am today. We had a short distance to travel to get to our new campsite near Sossusvlei and arrived around 11am. Tents were set-up and we quickly hit the road again. Our first stop was the Sesrium Canyon. This 1km long, 30m deep canyon was carved by a river through 15 million year old deposits of sand and gravel conglomerate.
