Today we picked up the hire car, Bob wanted a convertible and after some strongly worded threats from me when they informed us they had run out of convertibles, despite us pre-booking it a month ago........he got his car!! Golly it was hot. And got hotter by the hour as we left the wonderful sea breezes behind and headed inland into the desert. There were the usual massive signs everywhere advertising everything you can imagine and more.

We saw the sights in Grand Forks, appreciated why its residents love the place, and then on Thursday (July 26), we drove 6 hours to the Minneapolis airport and flew home to Palm Springs.
