... games someone sure is losing out on missed revenue....Tom said that for the 15 home games per year the town couldn't afford to add further seating and that the triple A teams only bring in 500 people per game...So although it's a nice stadium..it is one of the smaller ones.
March 23....picked up our friends Rachelle and Dave from the airport in Tampa...making plans for the week with them. ...

Monday 16/3 - After fueling up we headed off to Tampa or more specifically Tarpon Springs which is a small Greek fishing village about 20 miles north of Tampa. It was recommended to us by some people we met on the cruise. Our GPS said it would be a 1 hr 45 min drive but it ended up taking us 2 1/2 hours due to traffic leaving Orlando and then around Tampa. The amount of traffic congestion is just amazing considering the roads are 3 and 4 lanes wide in one direction ...

The white mangrove live on high ground and to be honest I haven't looked them up!! Thought this was all very interesting......and no Rachelle , Vern hasn't written in the blog yet , but it's coming.!! Stay tuned...
We hiked the nature trail on the island and then settled ourselves on to the beach. Was so looking forward to seeing some wildlife, but no, no armadillos,gopher ...

We were disappointed in our campsite at Port Richey so wasted a day just trying to find a better campground. We had enough time to get in a bike ride and check out the nice Pinelllas Trail, railway bed. Then got to check out the beautiful Clearwater Beach, a tourist destination especially at this time of year. Then we moved to another campsite over in Largo, Fl at Rainbow Carefree Resort. Not ...
