Ostend, Belguim was a quick 2 night stopover on our way to Amsterdam.

It had a huge beach and a large esplanade with some cool orange art features.

It was empty of people and would be one of those places that come alive in summer.

We did a day trip to the nearby gorgeous city of Bruges.

This is a cool city centred around a couple of big plazas, lots of canals and pretty photo

It’s still light although the sun will be down about 11 p.m. We found a parking space right across from the door to our hotel. Yay that will be convenient for tomorrow when we leave. Tonight we have to pack and get some sleep before we head back to Brussels for the flight ...

The city has the headquarters for NATO the Eu. There are 1.5 million people. Buildings are comprised of both modern and old. Some 300 years old. There is a very significant class distinction. The king is Phillipe and the Queen is Matthilda. Then from Belgium into ...

... kids out of bed (Sean included) after 10:30 we had breakfast in the room and headed for a day of walking along the streets.
We made wrong turn (again) due to my amazing map skills and ended up at the windmills...we were suppose to see these tomorrow..oops. Then we headed to the Lake of love (minnewater lake) which was inhibited by swans and right beside a monastery. Next was the De halve Maan Brewery...but ...

... We got back to the ship and waited to get back on board. This was the only part I wasn’t too keen on – having to swipe a card, go through airport style security and be squirted with disinfectant all in the space of a few seconds. I guess it’s necessary though so I can’t really complain too much. After dropping off our bags, we went in search of food. Review: Cafe al Bacio We ended up in ‘Cafe al Bacio’ on desk 5 (opposite Bistro on ...
