We had had to empty out all our water bottles before getting on the plane and had not thought to refill them in the Brussels Airport. I was really dehydrated and it was an effort to get to our room. Feeling like I could hardly move, I waddled down the street, passing more chocolate shops and lace stores, until I found a canal cruise to board. I managed not to sink it with my newly acquired bratwurst-and-cupcake weight, and the toodle about was beautiful. ... weather was very mild when we left and we ended up walking around for a few hours. We passed the tower of Brugge, the town hall, many churches and canals. Brugge is a stunning town, that is extremely clean. I really liked it. Once it started to rain a bit, we went to a pub and I tried a few Belgian beers. Hoegarrden which I have already tried, and another one called Hommelbeir which was quite nice. It has a bit of an odd after taste but I still enjoyed it.

      Final Morning and Final Thoughts

... light bulbs, the dodgy electrical socket, the faulty phone (our ‘alarm calls’ were refreshingly absent on our final night…), the bathroom that you cannot swing a very small cat in… but I don’t. After all, we have still enjoyed our stay immensely, and unlike some, don’t let these things get in our way of a good trip.

      It’s a 25 minute ...
