    I haven't seen the chair of my dissertation, mentor and friend, Cynthia Franklin in more than 12 years and we happened upon each other in China of all places. She was travelling through the country conducting trainings. We were lucky enough to meet up in the beautiful Hangzhou - a short train ride from Shanghai.     ... Coke, egg salad sandwiches and kit kats, amongst the Chinese offerings. Our flight is of course delayed by at least two hours, but China has taught us to expect that.     ... new friends setting up their tables and food out on the pavement, so we moved outside and had a fabulous evening watching the world go by and exploring the stalls. The stall right in front of the restaurant was selling scorpions, spiders, centipedes and snakes - my first sight of exotic food in China!
