    We woke early and from the room and balcony we watched the sun grow stronger in the clear air on the mountains opposite, while a fisherman quietly punted himself about just below the weir. Enjoying the cool morning air, we went down and had breakfast beside the river and were surprised to see punts starting to drift past even at this early hour.     We went to Hangzhou, China on a train that went 304 km/hr. from Shanghai. It was a super fast train.

    In Hangzhou we went to a place called West Lake and rented bikes to ride around. There were a lot of people walking and riding bikes around the lake so we had to be careful..

    ... the 27th) after pre-purchasing our train tickets to Beijing, we spent the day touring West Lake. We rented bikes and rode around the lake and then hired a row boat for about a half an hour. This lake is a highlight thus far. I would recommend it to anyone travelling in these parts.

    Given the number of emergency visits to the squater, I'd say perhaps I've been a bit too enthusiastic with the street food.

    Today was a national holiday in China to celebrate the start of Autumn. For lunch we headed to Pappa John's to get some take out pizzas. We took them to a lake not too far away to meet some of Becky's friends, about 15 of them- all of whom had the day off work to mark the holiday.
