... more rainforest feel. We arrived at Cape Trip just at about sunset and walked the amazing beach. Three of us got up early for the sunrise at the beach - what a spectacle and what colours. After having slept on the beach, everybody else buggered off and I took the chance to have a very early morning beach walk. Imagine white sandy beaches, lined with palm trees and jungle, the sun throws sunny patches on the rainforest hills ...
Cairns District, Queensland, Australia christine.thode... me well and my immense fear of deep water will gasp now and hold their breath .........I was diving. We set out on a sleek sailing catamaran, was a beautiful sunny day and after two hours through amazing blue waters we reached the two sites on the Great Barrier Reef. I braved all my fears and decided to snorkel a bit and to do two introductory dives - means the instructor is with you all the time. They were ...
Cairns District, Queensland, Australia christine.thodeHey,
I have arrived safely in Cairns - 30 degree and blue skies.
Though I slept through most part of the flight it was sooo long, Thanks to a very nice guy at the check-in however I had the emergency exit seats with extra leg room because I am so very tall ;) which normally cost extra. And for some part of the journey I had a travelling stewardess ...
Cairns District, Queensland, Australia kangorooislandWe drove from Charters Towers (cowboyville) to the volcanic park along the dodgiest road we have seen so far ! The roads in the outback were in better condition. It was pretty funny, it was a 'road' (sand and mud track really) for 2 way traffic yet just wide enough for our little van. To make it even more of a challenge road trains where still allowed to travel on the road. That meant if one came towards us G had no choice but to pull over and ...
Undara National Volcanic Park, Australia christinaukThere is no puzzle as to why Surfers Paradise, which is part of the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia is such a popular holiday destination. After all, it is the entertainment and glam capital of the island that is 'Down Under', and epitomizes that perfect marriage of city and beach lifestyle. But it's the eclecticism of Surfers (as it is affectionately referred to in Australian vernacular) that ...
Mission Beach, Australia solei... Paul as Uncle Brian had accidentally impregnated his wife Aunty Carroll, was an obvious Simpsons fan and musical enthusiast. Between destinations they were entertained with his wit and general banter about anything and everything that came to his mind - luckily he was extremely witty! He even managed to get everyone singing - even Ivan! At one point during the tour they drove past a house in one of the tiny villages in the mountains and Cousin Paul beeped his horn, and out of ...
Cairns, Australia ivanandfiona... years old * It's home to whales, dolphins, dugongs/sea cows, 1500 species of fish, 400 types of coral, 4000 breeds of clam and other molluses, 800 echinoderns including sea cucumbers, 500 varieties of seaweed, 200 bird species, 1500 different sponges and 6 types of turtle There's loads more info about coral polyps and different categories of reef etc, but Rene, who has to type all this has imposed a fact limit, which I've apparently reached. Unless you can afford ...
Cairns, Australia leeandcathyYesterday, we sailed overnight from Middle Percy Island to Brampton Island, and anchored just off the jetty. We dinghied ashore & walked along the resort railway line over to the resort & relaxed by the pool, chatting with other visiting yachties. There ...
