A diving we shall go.

Early Thursday morning we discovered breakfast was not served until 7:00 am. We had to be at our dive shop at 8:00 am so we quickly ate and headed off to Playa del Carmen and Scuba Playa. On the advice from staff we parked our car three blocks up in the Wal Mart underground parking. We were told it would be free, safe and would stay cool through …

Settling in to resort life

After a wonderful sleep we woke up refreshed and ready to face the day. The sun was up and beautiful so we quickly headed to Le Marche restaurant for a lovely buffet breakfast including amazing cappuccinos. I am a spicy food nut so I had lots of hot sauce on my breakfast. Hubby stays closer to just fruit which was plentiful and fresh. Back at the …

Our final day :>(

For our last day at the resort we decided to head into Playa del Carmen for some gift shopping in the morning on 5th ave. Prices were competetive so we were able to get some nice birthday gifts for family and souvenirs for our kids. It was back to the resort for a dip in the pool, lunch on the beach and more swimming. Luckly the hotel was able to …

To ruins and beyond

Monday was slightly overcast so we packed up our car and head out to see the ruins. Chichen Itza sounded wonderful but was quite far so we chose to go south to Tulum, cross over to Cabo and then take the cutoff back to Cancun to get back to the resort. Tulum was about an hour south of our resort. Located right on a cliff off the ocean we chose to …

The hubby and I stayed here twice, the first for our honeymoon and the second two years later for our anniversary.

Our honeymoon was amazing. It was everything we hoped for. The room was beautiful and very comfy. The service and staff courteous and always available. We came back to our room each day and found new towel art. The housekeeping service was prompt and they did a good job.

The restaurant selection was amazing! We enjoyed each one, the French was my fav.

Wadding in the pool, drinking and playing games was a favourite pastime. We brought our own floaters and made sure we got lounger seats each day with no trouble.

It is located about 30 min from Cancun and 25 minutes from Playa Del Carmen. The cab fare was about 35 USD.

Day trip into playa for shopping and a ferry ride to Cozumel is highly recommended!

It is an amazing resort, you won't regret going!

I'm sure it will get better

    from

We stayed here for New Years Eve week. Check in was good. We were told by the check in clerk that the hotel opened 30th Nov and would be completed by 15th February 2008. 100 of the 400 rooms were open. The place was like a ghost town, so no reservations required for restaurants and no problem getting a sun bed by the pool. Room was good, large double bed, whirlpool bath and large shower. Air conditioning was not working. As the week went on we got a table for the balcony and eventually a guest services directory.

    Still working out the kinks

Just got back this afternoon. I would agree 90% with the other reviews. Food is fantastic (especially the French and Japanese), beach, pool, and buildings are gorgeous, but there are definitely still some issues.

    Amazing resort

    from

We just returned from the Valentin Maya resort in the Mayan Riveria and all I can say is that it was the most amazing place we have experienced. We have travelled extensively and stayed in many great resorts around the world but this hotel is exceptionaly and is truly a 4 Diamond hotel.

    LOVED IT!!!!! A Couples Oasis!

    from

We stayed at this hotel from December 21- 28th and it was fabulous!!! This place is very romantic! Quiet! You are so free, no reservations for dinner, no towel cards, no bracelets. They are still putting some final touches in place as some room are getting furniture added, etc, but that was on the other side of the resort. The resort is pretty spread out so if walking is an issue you may need a wheelchair. They do have pedal bikes as well.

    What a beautifull place!

Valentin Imperial Maya is opened and beautiful!

    from

I was lucky enough to be at the Valentin Imperial Maya the week end the hotel opened and even if some little finishing touches were missing; my overall impression was WOW!

The setting is beautiful, the service outstanding and the gastronomic experience fabulous. The hotel is spacious so there is enough space to have intimacy yet it isn't too big so the it doesn't feel unpersonal.

I would recommend it to anyone of my friends and family.

WOW... Best value in Riviera Maya for the Price!

    from

Where to start... We got there just after the official opening (Nov 30th). The staff (most of them are from the other 5 stars resorts in the area are just pampering us like kings! The look of the resort is just fantastic, the gardens are allready green. FOOD is heavenly and the choice of restaurants (no reservation required) is so impresive that it becaumes a problem to choose! And what to say about the pools, they are huge freeform, with jacuzzi's and pool bar's... For the price we paid... We are planning to go back in April...
