One big Sandpit...
... from starwars or something of a far away planet. This went on for about 2 hours before hitting the town of Sharm el Sheik. This is an artificial town specifically set up for tourists. It basically contains just resorts with the obligatory souvenir and tourist cafes. We found our hotel with only one Uturn and it looked good.

Aujourd'hui je ne bosse pas car je dois aller a Hadaba passer un examen, sorte d'examen de dive master, afin d'obtenir ma carte CDWS, pour pouvoir travailler en tant qu'instructeur ici en Egypte... Fait chier, j'ai revise chaque soir, avant de fumer un sbif et de m'endormir... Donc le matin je prends un taxi jusqu'a Hadaba pour m'inscrire et reperer les lieux. Je reviens ensuite ...
New Year's Eve in Dahab
... and hadn't wanted to come on the trip in the first place.
For New Year's Eve, we decided to buy some nice Egyptian wine for a midnight toast at our hotel, and have dinner out at the Funny Mummy. Fresh fish at a Bedouin restaurant. Very nice. Everything was delish. But the sheesha smoke gave the Ivan and me headaches, and we fell asleep in our room. We awoke to ring in the New Year when we heard the fireworks and cheers. "Happy New Year, Hon!" as TT slept through the noise.

Dahab - Not Your Average Building Site!
... diving seems to happen about three feet off the beach- you don’t have to go far. I can only imagine that the reef off of Dahab is excellent or else there are a lot of people doing their open water or introduction to scuba course. At night people do night dives off the beach so the water is lit up with the underwater torches the scuba divers are using.

It doesn’t do On The Go’s case any good seeing as we were 1) going to be charged 200 Egyptian pounds EACH for hiring a coach and 2) the 1400 Egyptian pound EACH bus ride to Abu Simbel entrance to the temple excluded. So what exactly were we paying for? We got back on the bus ready or the final leg. As we all sat down the drivers got out lit cigarettes and were given cups of tea??? Perhaps they should have done then when we arrived, not 15 minutes later. Oh ...
