Took a drive today to see the Umpqua River Lighthouse, built in 1894, that has a 65-foot tower from which the original first-order lens is still shining. ... we would be the lucky winners to the one campsite (of 4 in the park) that had an electric outlet. Woo hoo. At a cool $25 a night this would be our cheapest nights yet...but perhaps our most torturous.

Lesson Learned: No more camping near the beach with massive tent...or perhaps any tent. We definitely had a little battle with the wind while setting ourselves up. We were pretty much convinced we were going to wake up with the roof of our tent on our faces in ...

After breakfast we headed north on 101 and enjoyed more of this beautiful coast.

We stopped at Cape Sebastian and even though there wasn't much to see we ended up visiting with a fun couple ...
