... could go
out, so I did. And I had a blast. Very frustrating, but very rewarding.
One of the major differences between snowboarding and surfing (ok,
besides the clothes, the weather and the liquid vs. frozen water
factor), is that when you are snowboarding and you have a terrible run,
you have the whole chair ride up to relax, compose yourself, and think
about what you can do better. When you ******** on wave, you then have
to get up and battle through ...

... is usually ready to call it a day and today was no exception. She had barely taken one bit of the duck when she jumped into Susie’s arms and proceeded to fall asleep. I was not far behind and I tried to keep my eyes open. Who knew a life of leisure could be so taxing! : )

Tomorrow we are heading to the Arenal region. We’ve had such a great time here on the coast that we really don’t want to leave, but adventure and the rain forest call!

Just as normal as it can get

... is about 1 hour from Liberia, and did the same amount of walking as we did, with the difference, that they could enjoy and refresh themselves in the beautiful pacific ocean!! :) After exploring the whole beach, that also included climbing and hurting feet, they encountered a lot of funny looking crabs as well as other little ocean animals, that swirled around. In the afternoon we got back together again to join all the other students already waiting in front of the ...

Back on 2 wheels - Nicaragua to Costa Rica

... we wondered who could this be and wanted to meet another adventure motorcycle traveler We filled up with gas and headed to the border with Costa Rica - this time we took another "handler" but this time very cautiously saying from the start "we can only pay you $5" and it was "OK". While waiting with him to get the stamps in the passport, we met the owner of the Australian R1200GS - David Stanley -an ex-Australian policeman traveling on ...

... was overwhellmed and said to the group that the El Heffy was on the next bike. Well that was me, and I could see Noel laughing as he looked into his mirrors at the mob now all yelling at me to hire them. I pointed them back to Noel and we hired Migilito for $5 each, down from 15. When we got to the Costa Rica enrty point it was much more crowded and a little more organized. There were lines of people waiting to ...

... And there are rediculous mansions/condo villages and tin shacks right next to each other. It is delightfully pleasant weather. Not too hot or humid here by the west coast. About 85 degrees every day, lots of fans in the rooms and palm trees to sit under outside. The swimming pools we have encountered use salt to sanitize so NO chlorine, which is wonderful. Fantastic flowers, birds and palm trees. Today I met a woman in my ...

Costa Rica in a whirlwind!

... were a bit anxious about what this might feel like coming from less touristy countries. However, we fortuitously planned our trip during the beginning of the low season for tourist travel so we were pleased to find that we never felt too crowded (we also didn´t go to the popular touristy beaches on the Pacific Coast so that helped!) In fact, on the hike I described earlier, we hiked into a waterfall where we had it all to ourselves for a good 45 minutes before ...

Somebody send me some good luck...

... so it feels like it should be summer and hence late nights. I guess the sun rises pretty early because its already full daylight by 5.30 and have yet to peek earlier than that! Off to Nicaragua on Thursday for 4 days so really looking forward to that so maybe no new updates for a few days. We will be heading to Monteverde cloudforest on my birthday for the last week of Spanish school so will use the weekend as an excuse to celebrate ;)

Off to Tamarindo

... how to surf. The room they put us in the first night was amazing (it wasn't actually our room for the whole stay, they just upgraded us for a night for free). It was the suite and had a huge terrace ( about 25ft by 25ft) over looking the beach, it was amazingly pimp. We got out drinks and enjoyed the sunset on our terrace. It was so pimp and so beautiful. I took a ton of pictures as usually and got a bunch of good ones. I really need to get ...
