... the name of the place Volubilis was Latin for the flower named Morning Glory. He also explained a lot of other things but I really wasn't listening.
A couple of hours drive after the ruins we were in the ancient city of Fez, the spiritual capital of Morocco. I was down to my last pair of clean underwear before I had to resort to the inside out; wrong way around method of making them last longer. As a result the afternoon was spent doing laundry. We will be spending ...
... They were amazing - I'm glad I took a movie so I can watch it later in slow motion. We also went to a store/factory which made scarves - silk, cotton, and wool. They wrapped scarves around all of us for a group pic. We then saw a herbalist who had all sorts of herbs/spices for many different ailments (including something for Mike's cold) We left the medina and got the bus back to the hotel about 5pm. Mike and I wandered down the main street and ...
Fes, Morocco leone_and_mike... of Suzy it was her 27th birthday so that night we went out for a yummy multi course Moroccan meal of bread, soup, tapas, lamb, chicken, dessert, mint tea. We will be staying here for another day, after which we're off to the even grander but more hassle-free city of Marrakech and then on to the relaxed coastal city of Essaouira, which will complete our Moroccan experience. We will try to upload some pictures tomorrow.
Fes, Morocco mig.qwerty... drivers to get a decent rate to the Medina we split into two cabs and headed off only to arrive at the Medina gate minus one cab. Somehow during the journey we lost each other, unfortunately the taxi I was in was the one where none of us had the name of the hotel or a guide book. So we waited and waited for the others to show. After about a half hour and hundreds of "helpful" Moroccan men later we spotted our ...
