It was Awesome!
This trip was a trip of a lifetime! Playa Naco is a great resort, great people and staff! There is a variety of food, although the food was not the best. The pizza upstairs was a good afternoon snack when you were hungry, and the beach snack bar with hotdogs and hambugers and salad was also good. Nightly entertainment was awesome! Mickey and the rest of the gang always kept ya on your feet whether it was making a fool of youself or dancing to merengue. Tops disco was alright, but the main attraction was the Crazy Moon at Paradise, that was a good time I recommend anyone to go there (after 11pm)!! The entertainment throughout the day was also good. They had bananna boating, anything you can think of they had!!!The beach was always packed and so was the pool. Going off the resort was also fun. I recommend the Jeep Safari, it is an all day adventure and the tour guides are the best!!! The only thing that I recommend is to wear comfortable footwear.. We also went into the town of Puerto Plata, and that was neat to see all the sights and how people lived, and to look in all the neat shops..When buying things you need to bargin with the people because if not, you will get ripped off!!!The people on the beach are the same way! They get abit annoying! All you have to say is no gracis!!There is so much more to say, if anyone has any questions just email me and I will try to help!!Playa Naco was the best trip ever, I recommend it to anyone and hopefully we will be back next year!!!!!I was there the week of March 22-29 2003
My husband and I along with another couple just returned from DR. Our stay at Play Naco was fantastic. We will be going back not only to Playa Naco, but we are also going to try different locations arount Punta Cana. My husgand dives, and really enjoyed diving by the airport. The hotel was really nice. The staff was very helpful, and friendly. The rooms are not the newest, however they were kept very clean and are located right on the beach. We stayed in buildings 14 and 15 and all we had to do was step out of the building and we were not only on the beach, but right by the bar!! The food was pretty good. The breakfast buffet and omeletts were great!
Ay yi yi..le doggie le doggie
this trip was the best trip i have ever taken. I can't even describe the amount of fun i had. I got back yesterday and I would give anything to go back. I met so many new people, had an incredible time, and took a million pictures. If you had to go anywhere in the Caribbean, i suggest that you go to Playa Naco in the Dominican Republic. Anyone who was on my trip would agree with you. The nightly entertainment was wicked fun. I was always busy whether I was tanning, swimming, or dancing and drinking Presidente. The bottom line is, GO THERE! it will be the best time of your life, no matter what age you are. there's something for everyone. if u were on my trip, email me. Ay Yi Yi what a great time
I cant spend enough time writing about my first trip to Puerto Plata. After the cab driver gave his best Indy 5000 impression leaving the airport enroute to this beautiful resort I knew as all Dominicans say "ESsssss On" As we pulled up everything was so elegant. I put aside the stench coming from the cab drivers arm-pits and took a deep breath of the clean D.R. air. We were Playa Nacos looking for tacos and boy was this place off the meter.I traveled down with my beautiful girlfriend and her family. We were a caravan of " 9 playas nacos" As we walked into the lobby a pleasant kind Dominican Gentlemen snapped his fingers and soon some female tamale was in our grill with a tray of Pauly Punch. It was refreshing after our comfortable 3 hour flight in Business Class on American Airlines. After the drinks we took a brief tour. The huge Pool was just mesmerizing and it was funny to see all the little dominican men run around in their yellow shirts encouraging the pool siders to get motivated. After a quick glimpse of the resort we stampeded into building 16 where a short stay it would be. My girl gave me a quick tour of the beach and I really couldnt believe how clean everything was. The water was pure Presidente sparkling and so bubbly!! As we showered up and got ready for the Mexican restaurant there was a scream from one of the memebrs of our caravan. Caribbean Cockroaches and plenty of them. Screams yells they were all over both showers in this building. We were petrified, mortified, electrified at how this could be. So we switched. The fine staff was happy to help us move into a 3rd floor penthouse in another building. Two of our assilents stayed in 16 for the whole trip and enjoyed their stay with the Roach family. Ay yi yi! Now up at Building 18 we began our unpacking again. MY partner Pauly and I actually moved 3-5 times for the trip but we were neat tenants as we kept our belongings to ourslelves accept for my jeans which I aired out the smoke on the bannister and Paulys 100 pacos deoderant which he kept under his cot.Up at the mexican restaurant we couldnt get enough of the Frito chips and salsa. The epitome of just finding cheese quesadillas (with just cheese) was a problem. But Julio the fine Chef was able to make the adjustement. I had the chicken Fajitas and they were decent. The nightlife down at this Hotel is the bumb diggity. Tops is the nightclub that dont ever quit. I quickly became good amigos with the DJ "ALis" he loved my American Music and played all my CDs. I was also allowed to spin beats, wear sweaty headphones, adjust lighting and talk on the microphone. I had a great time at Tops. One of the things I noticed was that even local employees make an appearance there to mingle with the amiguettes, such as Mickey Mouse who stopped by for a photo opp!Playa Naco was a true paradise. Once you get adjusted with the food you are smooth sailing. The omelette station in the AM can satisfy your hunger and the smiley chef always greets me with a greasy handshake. The rest of the buffet was non adjustable to my stomach but we all managed. Even parrot droppings on the floor doesnt keep the tourists away. For those that dont like the food you can spend all your time at one of the fine booths at Pizza Hut at the Puerto Plata Galleria. we all had fun their, Aside from one of our caravan members "cheryl" getting her scalp stuck in the glass elevator at center court this mall had it all. Pizza Hut was fun for the whole family. The drinks at Playa Naco were awesome. My Bananna Mamma and Pappa always woke me up for the morning and even Captain presdente was pounded at the back pool bar with guadalupe and his chronies. We spent a good portion of our trip relaxing and cooking in the sun. It was so much fun! The staff led by Mickey Mouse and Tiger Woods kept all the Canadians and Americans together in pure harmony! The water polo and swim relay were my favorite. I particulary enjoyed the fine looking American Stud that took control of the microphone and pumped up the crowd with his sexy raspy voice. At night we ventured off the Hotel a few times to the Paradise. Playa Naco was better because of its fine staff. After our final move because of the cockroaches i will never forget the fine old union amigo that transported a half dozen cots on his bare back. He was a real trooper. The rooms were all nice aside from having to adjust to the cold showers I enjoyed my time spent. I personally wanna thank all the Playa Nacos employees who instilled friendly gestures to my Caravan!"Mick (the quick) mouse" (great guy hard worker always on the run!!)Tiger Woods (very emotional and happily gifted at helping out)Elata (stubborn at first but opened up nicely to our caravan)The local union man (*****) 5 stars great help when we were icing our bruises from water polo and baseball catchFelipe this man was always at the pool bar and working hard! Thanks Playa Naco see u next year!
AY YI YI Mickey Mouse Makes the Trip
It wasnt until I met Mickey Mouse that me and my capo Pauly Walnuts took over the entire town of Pool this Hotel offered. WE drank considerably and became in like flynn with the whole staff. After a near 50 bananna mamas and presidentes I found myself and my sidekick Pauly doing back flips off the stage platform of this oversized water fiesta. We turned the place upside down with our drink pounding and wack butterfly dance moves at the pool bar. Thanks to all 15 tequila shots and salt licks I forced myself to write this review 2 days later back in snowy NYAt night the action and excitement didnt stop. Although the place was dead empty we found that Tops Nightclub was the hot spot of hot spots. Taking over the DJ Booth I became enhanced with my ability to spin the beats. Giving locals some headache and harmony my DJ buddy Alis became a jammmaster J as I helped him Transform Tops into something it hadnt seen since the creation of the Island some thousand years ago!The food although weak was sufficient ------------------- tWO HATS OFF TO ALL MY DOMINICAN PLAYAS!Mickey Mouse "Esssssss ON" "AY YI YI" This guy made me hear AY YI YI In my sleep but works well with ythe Playa Naco Community"Elado " although he was worried about the microphone he let me slide on the 500 million pacos I owed him""Tiger Woods" A Real Trooper always was involved with activites and gave us good mic time"The dominican with the 1987 oakleys in the activites center." I never knew your name but you were cool to yell AY YI YI Too every time I walked by.
The Love Spot
as a teen i went there with my family like every year and i had a blast!! it is a family tradition to go to playa naco and i enjoyed it!!! i met many guys there from europe and leanred alot of things. they have an excellent buffet with several options for resurants. they have nightly entertainment and they have the best disco!!! they beach there is always clean and the employees are always ready to help you with anything you need or want. There are activities for thw whole family there. The rooms you stay in are wonderful, it's like a paradise.
Me and my boyfriend had our first holiday together at Playa Naco in August 2002. I loved it out there. This was the first long flight for me, it was 8hrs and it was fine, no problems, we flew with Britannia Airlines who looked after us really well, I was a little nervous about sitting around for that long, but time went really quickly. We departed from Manchester at 11am, we were given blankets and pillows so we could curl up and snooze and we were fed twice! We arrived in the Dominican Republic about 3pm their time.
It was a bit of a hassle in the airport, we had to sit around filling in a visa, I would have prefered to have had these on the plane to do, so before you even think about getting your luggage, you're filling in this visa in temperatures you wouldn't believe! But it's not all bad.
I was very impressed with the hotel, we had a flat type thing right on the beach! Never had anything like it abroad before. You walked into the room, there was a dining table and four chairs, a sofa (sofa bed) and another chair, and a tv and fridge, up the spiral stair case was the bedroom, a huge king size bed and a chair, another tv, walk in wardrobe, and a lovely clean bathroom! It was home from home! Unfortunately we didn't have a balcony, but that didn't matter as when you walked out of our block, you were on the beach, and the beach bar was 5 metres away!
The food was ok, but I couldn't have lasted longer that 2 weeks of it! The itallian was my favourite but the buffet selection was also good for choice, I didn't like the mexican, the meat was all fatty. The beach hut during the day was a big favourite of mine, they did burger and chips every day! I didn't enjoy the burgers but the chips were fantastic so I'd have then in a roll most days! Breakfast was the best though, omlette every day! You choose your filling and they put it into an omlette, it was great!
Whilst we were there it rained for 1hr on one day. Now, it was rainy season then so we were very lucky, and when it rains it really rains, but it doesn't last for long and before you know it the sun is out and it dries the place up, we watched the rain from our apartment, it was amazing, never seen anything like it before. The rest of the time it was hot, hot, hot! It took a while to get used to the heat, it was unbelievable and even jumping in the sea to cool off sometimes didn't help, it was like luke warm bath water alot of the time!
We did a few trips during our stay, our favourite was the Catamaran day out, including, snorkelling, all the drink you could handle and a buffet lunch. We had a right laugh, the crew were great and were always topping you up and asking if you were ok, on the way back at tea time they had us dancing etc, it was fun. We also went to "Paradise Island" Now, this was a good day but they don't tell you the truth before you go! We were told we were being picked up at 6.30am so we weren't out in the sun too long, this is bull, we were picked up because it takes a 3hr coach journey before you take a boat out to the island! We were told about this by some guests at the hotel who had been years ago, when we got on the coach, the rep said it would be a 3hr drive as there were road strikes, my boyfriend told him what we had been told by the other guests and the rep got into a bit of a muddle! It's a 3hr journey and they don't want to tell you in case you don't buy the ticket and go, a bit of a shame really, knowing the truth would have been better, sitting on a coach that long in the heat was a bit of a turn off, but the island is nice when you eventually get there! They feed you and you snorkel, swim, catch the sun. Your only actually on the island for 2hrs! But, it is nice to see and if you can handle the journey go.
We met 2 other couples who were honey mooners so most days we were altogether down the beach or pool, I was snorkelling most days too, I' loved it, first time and I loved it so much I bought my own super dooper snorkel! We all got a taxi to Sosoua beach too one day, that was a nice change and very cheap to get to, it cost us about £2 per couple! I did my first scuba dive over there too, you must do one if you haven't already. My boyfriend has done it before and did his PADI open water certificate whilst we were there, it's cheaper than doing it in England.
So all in all, it was a great holiday and I would definately reccommend it, that was my first all inclusive and I think I would like to do them all the time now, it just made life so easy, there was food all day every day and all the drink you can handle, I will definately be doing another next year.
If you go give Nelson the bar tender a big kiss from me, he was a darling!
Have a good holiday!

We're going back!
Last year my husband and I took a long awaited vacation and chose the Playa Naco Resort at the advise of friends. We had an awesome time. The food was excellent, quite a variety and always so much. We enjoyed the beach, the many activities and the staff were the best. They were all very friendly, helpful and I don't think one time during our two week stay did I see a frown on any of their faces. We explored Puerto Plata a few times and did a few day trips. The Jungle Safari was a favorite. I have recommended this resort to many friends who are going to give it a try....and yes, we're going back again in February. Can't wait!!

Puerto Plata is the main city on the D.R.'s north coast and was named by Christopher Columbus when he explored the area in 1493. The harbor is guarded by Fortaleza San Felipe, one of the oldest forts in the New World. Some parts of the town are a little ramshackle but in other areas Victorian houses have been nicely renovated so the center part of town including the Parque Central and cathedral are pleasant to stroll through.
