Woke up this morning and a bat flew into my face. After I woke up properly, I realised it was a big moth or butterfly or something something. So dramatic. Left Hotel Latino, brekkie on route to bus station. Fancied an omelette. Got omelette, salad, rice, a bag of tortillas and the ubiquitous refried beans. Lucky I like all that stuff. Bring it on.
Bus drops us on the side of the motorway after an hour, at a make shift station hiding under a gazebo. ...

... next day, I tried my luck at spending the day at Shellbo's hotel again. Success! For a little bit, until the lifeguard from the day before spotted me in the pool, so I followed Shell's advice and "ducked" under the water whilst he walked past, making it blindingly obvious haha. Arturo woke and we talked over some coffee as well. He was in no rush at all. I guess you can make your own schedule as the Dean...lol. Casual conversation and enjoying ...

Up at dawn-ish…….

Until today we have not taken the time to walk the
beach. This, more than anything, makes
me miss this special little place before we have even packed to leave. The
beach is deserted; a few other wanderers malinger at the water’s edge. The
fishermen are heading out for the morning. Breakfast will ...

... long enough for me to take a few snaps. (This took longer than one might think, as I first had to figure out why I couldn't see anything through the viewfinder. Camera lens fogged up. Along with my glasses.) I enclose a shot of the handsome fellow, along with one zoomed out for scale.

Other critters reported (but not seen by me) include the Ring-Tailed Coati. Click the link for a photo. It is a mammal that is something like a ...

I highly recommend if you are staying in Riviera Maya. All meals and room service and included. You could even just stay for a couple days for a nice bit of luxury. There were absolutely no problems and it was amazing. I would probably say this was the best hotel I've ever stayed in.
