The amazing paradise experience
I recently stayed at The Reserve of paradises palma real. It was one of the nicest hotels I have ever been to. It Was Paradise!!!! The most amazing thing about this hotel was the spa. It was like you were walking on ocean paradise with cabanas and hot tubs everywhere! I ...

Tirsdag.
Well That's All Folks!!!
... Quick thinker and learner beyond her years. Yet silly and childish at times. I loved that. Our chemistry to me at least was magic. Considering the language barrier. I think she cares about me in a real way. Then again it is what it is. Time will tell and we will see what the future holds as far as she goes. But I will NEVER forget her and the memories we shared! So folks that's a wrap and this is my last post. So until next time....be safe, be smart and be real!

Historical Traveler Reviews Barcelo Dominican Beach Punta Cana
Would Never Go Again...
The hotel is very clean and the grounds are beautiful. The service was poor - it was extremely difficult finding someone to help you with anything -very few people spoke ANY English. There was no direction around the hotel - i.e. schedule of events, shows, theme dinners etc. About 80% the guests were French - and unfortunately, they were very rude! The food was adequate - both my husband and myself (and another couple who booked the same package we did) got sick. They tell you to not drink the water - we didn't and we were very careful about not having ice etc yet we still got sick. Friends of ours stayed at The Iberostar hotel the same time we were there and they loved it! Skip the H-10 or Ocean Bavaro (name changed while we were there) and shoot for the Iberostar!!
H-10 is a great resort!
My boyfriend and I just returned from one week at the H-10 (march 15-22) and we absolutely loved it. I read some of the reviews before we left and I was a little skeptical because it was only rated a 3star resort. I have stayed at many resorts in the Caribbean and this resort was definitely above average and deserves more than 3 stars. The rooms were basic, but they were spotless and everything worked just fine (shower, AC, TV etc). The beach was beautiful and the staff was great at cleaning it up each morning (compared to other resorts near by this beach was the cleanest by far!). Although the resort was fully booked the beach was well spread out and never felt overcrowded. It's best to get up early to save some beach chairs for the day because they get taken pretty early in the morning. The food was average. We knew it wasn't going to be amazing but there is a huge variety so we always found something we liked. There are 4 restaurants to make reservations at so once again lots of variety if you don't like the buffet. The pools are quiet and for the most part pretty clean. The big pool was a little dirty by the end of the day but nothing to complain about. The staff is friendly and works hard to keep everyone entertained all day and night long. There are food buffets and bars near every pool and at 2 different spots on the beach so you never have to go too far to find what you need. I highly recommend this resort as it exceeded all my expectations (and this comes from someone who goes down south to all inclusive resorts almost every year!).
H10 exceeded our expectations! March 8, 2003
Although I must admit I was apprehensive about staying at a less than luxury resort and almost changed the location prior to departure, this resort TOTALLY exceeded my expectations (and I consider myself to be somewhat picky). The H10 was absolutely beautiful, food and drinks were fantastic, and the service and entertainment was great. Our room was immaculate and the bathroom was huge. We stayed on Block 3 which was centrally located and very quiet. I would definitely return here without a doubt!!
Just not the right hotel !
Traveled to Punta Cana week of Feb 25th to March 4th 2003..This was a trip with a buddy of mine a get away for some sun and golf and that was about the best of this vacation .In fact the weather was incredible picture perfect everyday 86' with cool tropical breeze and nights about 70' .The hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired and I lay blame on the travel agent for not placing us in a hotel with a few Americans ,this place is 95% Europeans (French,Italian,German). I thought the food (buffet) sucked . Be careful as well not to use the ice cubes in your drinks or you will be sick. And the big kicker was the rooms ..shower didn't work well, toilet was always broken you call front desk and they tell you they will have someone come to your room to fix problem and you might get lucky if they showed up 2 days later ! NIGHTMARE . Best part of trip was going to a place outside of hotel in town called "La Punta" if you ever wanted to know what it feels like to be a rock star and have tons of women all over your *** this place Rocks ! Smokin hot babes !!!! all locals and let me tell you they love Americans ! Overall I'd go back to punta but never to this particular resort ,but I guess you live and learn .
Plenty of other places. Don't come here
Though we loved our stay, our complaints were practically ignored by the management. The hotel's location is great, the service was great, the night shows - excellent, food was great too. But out of 6 days we spent there (it was our honeymoon), we spent 5 begging for the shower to be fixed (we had no hot water) or to be transferred to another room. On the 5th night we were finally given another room. Besides, upon arrival we were told that we were getting 2 double beds, though we specifically asked for 1 king sized bed. This was ignored as well. And when we told the receptionist this was our honeymoon, he smiled in disbelief and told us we could tell the PR person (who was never there), and maybe get something special. On the 4th day, our travel agency (apple vacations) representative spoke to a manager about the problems. He promised to solve the problem and make it up to us. He didn't solve the problem, and we were not compensated in any way. Bottom line: there are plenty of other hotels in the area. Just pick another one.
Lots of Fun
My aunt and I stayed at the H-10 Bavaro for a long weekend "just the girls" get-away. It rained some of the time we were there, but you can't blame the resort for the weather! And even when it was raining, there was plenty to do and the staff really tried to get the guests up and participating in all their activities. Once the sun came out, the place was amazing. Aerobics in the waves on the beach, beach volleyball and soccer, a swim-up bar in the middle of the pool, you name it, they had it. The staff there is super friendly ad fun, although maybe it helps that I speak spanish. There are lots of Europeans at the resort--French, Italian, German--so while most of the staff speaks a few languages, their English was not amazing (you could definelty communicate with them in Engligh though). The food, which we were expecting to be only mediocre, was AMAZING, in both the main dining hall and the Mexican and Italian restaurants. My aunt and I arrived on Friday afternoon and left Monday afternoon, and we had fun for the short trip. I can see, though, how someone might get a little bored if they were going for a longer trip, but i think that comes with any all-inclusive complex type resort
Great vacation
I was extremely anxious about our trip after reading all of the negative comments on this site, and with only two reader reviews posted for this resort, I was wondering why no one else chose it. I should not have worried. We arrived in PC right on time, went through the airport procedure and got a taxi to our hotel, without speaking a word of spanish (other than si and gracias of course). We had no problem checking in and got to our room within 15 minutes of arrival. We were a little disoriented upon arrival because the information brochure was in Spanish only, they had no english translation. We did not know what we were supposed to do about meals, did not know how to make reservations, etc. We went back to lobby and the guest relations person spoke perfect English. She explained the restaurant choices and gave us other basic information as needed throughout our stay. We ate at the buffet and pool snack bar for all but one dinner. We had reservations at the "Italian" restaurant on our second night. The food there turned out to be all grilled, chicken, pork, steak, sausage, with red beans and rice and a salad bar. Not our idea of italian, but delicious. The main buffet had everything! We never waited in line, only complaint at all was flies, but how can this be avoided completely in open air dining? Bars were quick to serve drinks, which had plenty of alcohol in them!!! We, as americans, were definitely in the minority, we met 3 other couples who were from US. We liked that aspect of this hotel, we did not have to talk to people unless we wanted to, since most spoke Spanish, French or German. The grounds were breathtaking, the pools were huge and immaculately clean. We never had a problem getting two chairs and towels on the beach *also beautiful" or the pool. Our room although not fancy, was clean and the shower and airconditioning worked great. Our ceiling did leak a bit on the night it rained (it was pouring outside, only a slight drip in one area), but we
of our building, but we could not smell it inside our room or on our balcony, Which overlooked a lovely lagoon with pink flamingos! We would recommend this resort without reservation, although I must add that we are not the type to find fault and tend to overlook some things, i.e. flies, leak and smell, that might really bother someone else.
The Time of Our Life
Me and My family went to H10 last summer and we had the time of our life. It was a dream. There was always something to do at all times and for every one in the family. We were 29 adults and 9 kids, and this next summer we are going to be more than 50. We just fell in love with H10. I Still remember all the friends I made especially "La Muchachona". I'm so there again and again and again.
Incredible!
Our very first trip to Punta Cana was February 2002. We weren't sure what to expect, but ended up having an absolutely incredible time! The H10 Bavaro Resort is perfect! Everything you need and more. We loved the entertainment/activities staff. They were a blast! We will definitely be returning to the H10 Bavaro Resort!
Wonderful facilities, great service, right on thebeach
We will be returning to the H-10 Bavaro Resort in Punta Cana
for the third time in March 2002. Located right on the beach - smaller
hotel, well maintained, great service, EXCELLENT VARIETY OF FOOD, clean
rooms. We strongly recommend this resort and would give it a 4 star.
