... playing and sightseeing around a big ocean lagoon! We have also booked a Monday afternoon visit to see a a Silver Jewelry place and will visit the downtown area of Playa del Carmen, the closest town.

Hope you're well. We went to Mexico for a couple of weeks in January to get away from the winter as well as get some r&r before our son takes over our lives (for the better).
It's taken a bit longer than usual to sort these out but better late than never right?

After 5 days if torrential rain, Mexico delivered on the beachside holiday I'd been hoping for. We spent the first 5 days entertaining ourselves doing crazy things inspired by cabin fever. Fashion parades, late night crab hunts, packing survivor bags incase we were evacuated.....Mine consisted of my visa, phone, tramping boots and head torch. Megan's contained 2 survivor head scarves ...

We went to a lesser known cenote & took ourselves rather than book onto a tour so we had the entire place to ourselves for hours exploring. We had to use our camera for light though as we didn't bring torches - oops!
The town of Cancun itself was not that nice but the beach ...
