          Day 9

... found out the day before that we would be having it for lunch. After pizza at the lazy dog, we got back on the bus and headed 15 minutes down the road to Sosua. In Sosua, I went souvenir shopping at the market and then jumped in the crystal clear water with all my friends. For some reason, the Sosua beach side looks a lot like Greece. That was an observation many people made, even Olivia, who was in Greece earlier this summer. The water ...

... I got up a couple minutes later though to get some ice cream. The man selling it walks up and down this mountain in pants with ice cream on his head, so mad props to him and all the people who live in Brisón. I ended up getting two ice creams; one was chocolate and vanilla, the other was cake flavored? I calmed down a little, ate my lunch, and then just talked to Olivia for a little bit before it was time to go back down. Normally, GLA talks ...

So basically today I woke up an hour and fifteen minutes earlier than I needed to because of the stupid roosters and cows. They cute but they suck. So after the early awakening I decided to take my first shower. The shower is not a shower, but more a cold hose. I'm going to try to upload a picture of how crazy it is. Breakfast was amazing (as were lunch and dinner) and after eating we headed off for a day of work paving ...

... I excused the chance away with the 'promise' to go the following year. And then we decided to take our summer trip to the eastern coast instead. It was an amazing trip, one that I feel beyond blessed to have taken. One that God showed up mightily for since we had made no plans and just went. But one that took up any 'vacation time' plus more and any funds I had set aside for this trip. At that point I figured the DR trip idea was on a permanent hold. Then ...

... a bit. The fruit is amazing (I had a snack before) and so are the tomatoes. It looks like it’s pizza for supper. Tomorrow night, it’s Mexican. It’s my friend’s birthday and she’s having a party so that should be interesting. They opened up another casino, so now there are two in walking distance if that’s what you like and a gorgeous golf course across the street. ...
