... country alone is a fairly daunting affair... I can see why people might opt for those international staples of Maccas, BK or Subway, but I was brave and ordered myself a quezzilla even though I didn't know what that was, and I probably should have had more than one! But the ladies were lovely as I told them I had no Spanish (well I hope that's what I told them)! So the quezzilla turned out to be a little like a quesadilla, maybe it is the same thing, who knows! After a lunch buffet, which is included in the tour price, we arrive at our main destination. The tour guide announces a total time for Chichen Itza of two hours. If I hadn't looked out my window just in time, I would have kept riding along because the bus driver said he would let me know when we arrived at Ibis but must have "forgot"...lol. It was already dark out and I barely caught a glimpse of the red sign for the hotel. I said my goodbyes to the others and assured them we would meet again.
Arturo is immediately welcoming. Huge smile and laugh followed by ...
... we got up and walked a couple of blocks to find the bus stop, and after waiting on the wrong side of the road for a while, we made it to the Hotel Zone. We checked out the lagoon, which seperates the Hotel Zone and the Ciudad and we found so many iguanas sat on the deck. The hotel's are pretty spectacular and after having lunch at this amazing Mexican cantina, where they brought us sombreros, bullets and the nicest smoothie, we went to find the BEACH.
