    Just spent the afternoon walking around Playa del Carmen. Well worth the 1/2 hour van ride and stop at Silver Jewelry Store! It was interesting to see the process to make jewelry but really we only looked through 3 windows at the front to see the molds' polishing and stone setting. We were drawn into the back room to see the collection but ...

    ... but believe me, it feels very natural, and you just need to trust your equipment. Once you get into the water, it's absolutely amazing. There is no other feeling like it, and you're in complete control of everything, so long as you know how to control your instruments. Our first dive was to the Underwater Museum, which some of you may know. It has statues and a Volkswagen and other things made out of a special rock so that coral life can flourish. It was amazing. ...

    ... of us were any good at the compass reading during our Open Water certificate, so we weren't looking forward to this one... No need to worry, it was actually really easy once we got the hang of the lubberline/bezel. Underwater, we had to navigate backwards and forwards, and then in a square using the compass readings, N, E, S, W.


    5) Nocturno/Night Dive. Scheduled for a Thursday night soon!
