We made our way via ferry from the mainland over to Cozumel (about 30 minutes) found a hotel and hit the town for some window shopping and drinks. We happened to arrive on the day they were having an “Ironman” race on the island (their first). This is were they first swim 2 1/2 miles, bike 112 miles and then do a marathon of 26.2 miles! The winner made it in just over 8 ...
Cozmuel, Quintana Roo, Mexico goodrichodysseyWe made it to Mexico after 30 hours of travel. We had a great feast of mexican last night while listening to a mariachi band play and the flambe waiters make all sorts of desserts, coffees and lobster. It felt great to sit in the humid heat and be on vacation.
My pina coloada was the length of my arm! Watched Buffalo clobber ...
Puerto Morelos, Mexico surledepWe left Chitchen Itza at 12:41, and made it back to Cancun at 13:30. The approach to Cancun was a bit dodgy, as there was a lot of low clound (1500' and lower), and lots of wet haze to make the VFR flight a real challenge. Nevertheless, I had no trouble making a nice slow approach and ...
Cancun, Mexico flyroy... low on air and he brought us to the surface but Robert had to buddy my air for the ascent on both dives as the air went that quickly. He wasn´t best pleased, but at least we got some good buddy breathing practice. We ventured into Cancun on our last day to find the bus station so we knew where to go tomorrow and to post some stuff home. It´s a bit of a dump and there´s nothing very close together. We had a look around the WALMART, woo hoo!
Cancun, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico knottyBreakfast Buffet at the cobra restaurant.....Hmmm...hope it's better than dinner buffet. It was for sure. They even had a smoothie bar, which had about 10 different fruits on it. You pick the fruit, they make you the smoothie. We then went and got ready to go to the local mall just to check it out in town. We got on the bus for 65 pesos each (about $1.30) and headed to La Isla Mall. It was ok we ...
Cancun, Mexico jaclynandchadWe spent a whole day in Xcaret and kind of regretted it. We went on a tour there of an Eco Archaeological Theme Park that was highly crowded and filled with children. We were on our feet all day in flip flops on rocky terrain with no places to really sit and rest. The food was ...
Riviera Maya, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico aquasheep... of a little nurishment after a swim we ordered some barbaqued potatoes for 30pesos (3 US$). All we got for this was one, yes ONE potato much the same size of a kinder egg. Ric********kinson you would have been appalled!! A little detour took us to Havana, Cuba, I would love to be able to articulate what i saw and my experienced here to you, but i really am stuck for words. Havana is ...
