... to see mud huts and simplistic living - the inequality is stark and it's hard being caught in the middle. We even felt lucky having hot water, let alone three course meals. All in all though, we absolutely loved Zanzibar. The culture is amazing and the place absolutely stunning, and we will really miss banter with the locals and surprising them with our Swahili speaking. ... I spent most of the day – well, when I wasn’t having a massage or sitting at the bar. The beaches here should be the dictionary definition of what a beach should be, pure white fine sand, turquoise clear waters and no litter in sight. Palm trees sprouting in all the right places and the sun sets right in front of the bar. What more could you ask for?

It’s amazing how quickly doing ‘nothing’ on the beach can pass by and ...
