Me and my friend went to this resort last year for Christmas. Although when you arrive and drive to the hotel, it is a massive culture shock, when you get there, it is like a little slice of paradise. The hotel was clean and very well maintained. All the staff virtually tripped over themselves to help you. They were so friendly and did not expect tips. The beach was to die for although walking on it was impossible due to the beachboys who hassled you non stop. All the swimming pools and grounds at the hotel was spot on, clean and plenty of places to choose to sit and sunbathe. The animation team were first class and very helpful. The entertainment in the evening was excellent. The show was different every night and there was always a little disco afterwards. There isn't a great deal outside the hotel and I can't say that I felt totally safe. There are plenty of trips to chose from and all reasonably priced. This holiday was my first time on a jetski which was amazing. We went to the middle of the ocean and saw all the doplhins, brilliant! The food was excellent and the fruit was to die for! You were waited on hand and foot and nothing was too much. Our waitress, Betty was fantastic. The Kenyans have nothing but have such a happy manor. We left all the books we took and some other items and they wee so greatful. f you visit this resort, you should take pens and pencils, hairbands, nail polish, books and sweets. You can normally get a carving for the price of a pen!! Well worth a visit, my second best holiday ever.

JAMBO!!
We spent Christmas & New Year at Neptune paradise Village...We had a wonderfull holiday.. The rooms were a little tatty, on reflection we should have pushed to move although we paid for an upgraded rooms its sister & adjacent hotel Paradise had been renovated in 05.. Having said this they were adequate..
Staff couldnt have been more helpfull and seemed to be most concerned that we were having a great time, this came from the gardeners thro the waiters, coconut gatherers.chefs & management..
Few problems with the food being cool sligtly undercooked veg were rectified once managment were informed..One of our party was ill Dr called new Years day arrived within 20 min did some tests pills and potions prescribed and supplied result better within 2 hrs cost £130 well worth it.
When you go to Kenya PLEASE take some bits and bobs for the locals, poverty is rife, pens clothes socks toys remember Kenyans average pay is $1 per day.. Please go, the Hotel is not the Ritz but the people and sights more than make up for this.
Take pens!

Neptune Paradise Village resort was the right standard for me in terms of the building and site. Still had a rustic, beach house feel to it without being tacky. Food was pretty good, could have had more seafood besides fish every day and nite. Breakfast could have had a bit more variety like fried mushrooms, tomatoes, bananas etc. Only saw bacon once!
Our Rep Walter was ok, nothing outstanding. His aim was to sell the biggest and best safaris, nothing much else. The drive to Tsavo East Voi Lodge was truly a nightmare. Never go by road, rather fly. Myself, and the other 5 passengers honestly thought we were gonna die. The highway between Mombasa and Kenya is a joke! No lanes, huge holes in the roads and lots of maniacal drivers trying to overtake. I have been on many less scarry rollercoaster rides. Our safari guide Jaseem was not too polite and couldn't have cared less. Seemed to be too much chlorine in the pools as most of our light swimming cozzies and beach gear went green as well as some of the kids we saw having green tinted hair.
Majority of the staff were hardworking and friendly. Solomon was our favourite barman, a good character who made our nites. I do however, think they are paid very low wages which makes it harder for them to serve hand and foot. The Beauty Parlour needs to be upgraded in order to get more patrons i.e. aircon; proper massage oils and send those ladies on masseuse courses. Maybe even think about offering waxing for the ladies!
The Beach boys are truly pushy and irritating, even though they are useful to have when walking on the reef pools to stop one from standing on prickly anenomes. It seems pointless to go on a beach holiday and lay on loungers on the grass bank. Those beach boys need to be moved, educated on how to approach tourists or at least given jobs at the resort = they are ruining the hotel's image. When you go please pack a box or three of pens, hair elastics, socks and sweets = that is all they want besides your dollars and pounds.
Watch out for sand flies on the beach when laying on sunbeds, they bite badly.
Also watch out for the bottled water at the airport, it seems to be re-filled. No food to buy there either so make sure you have eaten before.
Have fun fellow neptuners.
Nice Experience

Arrived last week after 7 nights in Diani Beach, Neptune Paradise Village and two days safari with one night in Tsavo West(Kilaguni Hotel) and my comments in case can help you are:
These holidays are fully recommended for anyone who is ready to see how real and hard the situation is in these countries, if you are not ready to witness poverty and misery, you better choose other destination, our experience has been wonderful and I'm quite sure we'll come back in a future.
Hotel (Neptune Paradise Village): It was OK, average standards but would cover any necessity needed, for the place of the world where it is located, it is ok (including food), always remember that you are in Kenya.
We booked with Cosmos and I'm happy to say that would repeat with them, flew with Monarch which was not the best part of the trip (staff not very helpful, some of the stewardess should be working elsewhere away from the direct contact customer).
Booked the Safari with DM Tours which is run by Dennis, a German guy who seems to know all the bits and bobs of the business and again, quite happily I would book with him as the service was excellent (you can book safaris with anyone, you are offered in a day by day basis the same safari by the local people, the decision is at your own discretion=risk), in Tsavo you can see everything but we didn't see the lion, Rhino and Cheetah, we saw all the other animals (including a leopard hunting)
Visited Wasini Island snorkelling also in the reef, saw the dolphins, very nice experience.
You have to bargain for anything you buy, they'll ask you an average of 10 times the price they want, try to buy things away from the hotel (it'll be cheaper).
Would recommend

Just returned from 2 weeks at Neptune Village.
Good points:
The staff are all excellent, so friendly and helpful. They do seem to work extremely long hours though and are probably not paid what they deserve by the Indian owners.
The grounds are beautiful, very well looked after. The monkeys and birds are a joy to watch.
The accommodation is good - we were upgraded to a superior, but heard complaints from other guests about the quality of the standard rooms. Apparently it is 1000Ks per day to upgrade there. The individual 'huts' are much nicer than a hotel block.
Beach boys are not a problem. They are persistent but harmless and once they've seen you they know not to bother next time. They know straight away if you've just arrived! They're just trying to make a living.
Bad points: The quality/choice of the food did vary from excellent to poor from day to day. Watch the meat as it was often undercooked. The breakfast finishes too early! They had a BBQ evening which involved the poor staff moving hundreds of tables form the two restaurants across the grounds like little ants, we were so far away from the food one evening my food was cold by the time I got back! And the only thing actually BBQ'd was the fish!
Souvenir markets held on the grounds were unavoidable and the sellers there were VERY pushy. They want your tshirts, your socks anything.
The massive number of German guests there during our first week was overwhelming and took away the 'Kenyan' feel. 2nd week was much better with a real mix of nationalities.
The hotel is RIGHT at the end of Diani which is a long road. Next time I would prefer to be at the other end.
Superb Hotel

Just returned from 2 weeks holiday and my daughters wedding. Fantastic..the service and staff are so friendly and genuine and the arrangements for the wedding were out of this world. Beach boys no problem just good banter and trying to get the best deal for their souvenirs. Totally safe in and out of the complex and to experience the area "get out and see the locals lifestyle" Have no hesitation in recommending the hotel, will go back again without doubt. The beach and sea is out of this world, cannot speak to highly of the hotel and service.
Good choice

just returned from one week at Neptune Paradise.
Both the food and hospitality was excellent. nothing seemed too much trouble. you were able to book early morning breakfasts etc .
There were monkeys roaming the grounds and they didnt appear to bother the guests.I had been concerned that they might steal my bikini from the balcony.
We stayed in an upgrade room which we paid for in resort and this turned out to be cheaper than if we had updated with the travel agents. The room was really clean but my only criticism is that it really needed upgrading The shower etc was a bit old looking.
The hotel was a bit of a trek from the airport about one and a half hours but i think was worth the drive. Diani beech was beautiful but it was a pity there were so many people on the beech trying to sell u stuff. We were not able walk without being accompanied by one of them unless u went to the beech very early.Saying that they were not aggressive or threatening in any way.
We got excellent value for money and i would certainly return to this hotel but saying that ther were a couple of other hotels that looked quite stunning.
I think Ai or HB is a good choice for Kenya as ther are not that many bars or resteraunts around .
We had a great trip and for value for money I can not fault the Neptune Paradise..

Had the pleasure of staying at the Neptune Paradise Village from the 31st Jan to 14th February 2005, and had a wonderful time. The staff are all very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food was first class and we also had the chance to go on a 4 day safari to Tsavo West, Amboseli and Taita Hills and saw 4 of the 5 big game. We have had such a wonderful time we are going back in September but everyone says that it is the wrong time to go if anyone knows any different I would be grateful if you could let me know.
