Ahhh, the Exuma islands are absolutely beautiful! Even our flight there was fantastic as we got to see all those small islands, cays and turquoise water from up above. Yes, finally the sun was out again in full force ;-))!
We checked into a nice bungalow on the beach and headed out to explore this gem of an island. George Town is the biggest settlement on the island and barely counts a couple of houses. We ...
We left Georgetown at 8 a.m. with all the other snowbirds heading north. We had a great down wind ride and arrived at Galliot Cut at 3 pm and we were off the Atlantic and back on the shallow Bahama Bank. Denny trolled for a while then had a FISH ON. Hi everyone. As of right now it looks like we and 3/4 of the over 300 boats anchored here are leaving tomorrow. We are headed for Black Point about 50 miles to the north. We'll keep ya posted once we get another chance at the internet. All our love.
... for months at a time to escape the northern winter and meet up with cruising friends year after year. We will probably be here til Saturday. The winds are supposed to die down by then and so are the seas. Tomorrow we will dingy across the harbor to the town for provisions.

Heading directly into them was tricky but Denny did just fine and we went to course and put the main and jib up. What a ride we had. We entered the harbor at 3:30 pm and dropped the hook. We are pretty pooped. The boat got a good salt water bath and so did we. We'll be here probably the whole week as the winds are supposed to die down by Saturday.
