We just got back from a wonderful 10 days in Punta Cana. We stayed at the Esmeralda Punta Cana resort. It was quite hot and humid for my liking, but we had a great time. It was our third visit there and we decided to do an ATV excursion, a parasail excursion off the beach which did not turn out well. And a free shopping excursion which was nice …

So apparently I'm supposed to update this thing regularly so you guys know what's goin' on...

I'm burnt. Like peeling burnt. It's day 3 back from Punta Cana and my tan game is pretty strong right now. I had the best time relaxing on the beach with my girl friends and hated leaving the balmy, 85 degree sun of the island.
Our daily itinerary consisted of wake up: walk on the beach: have breakfast: lay out by the pool: water aerobics: have lunch: lay out by the ...

resolved that he’d let me go if I drove directly to the Budget Rent-A-Car booth
at the Punta Cana airport about an hour away to get the registration sticker.
Well, looks like I’m going to Punta Cana after all!

“Very sorry for the inconvenience, man!” was all I got from
the rep at the airport. Hmmm, ...

... Nacional Parque del Este where Isla Saona is located is also said to be the best area in the country for scuba diving.

After a lunch with exceptionally slow service I went for a drive to the national park. The road turned to dirt at the park’s entrance (nothing my little KIA couldn’t handle) and then ends a short distance beyond at a deserted park headquarters. An attendant emerged to collect my park entrance fee, and then I was off on my hike to Cueva de ...

... went up the mountain, and we look at the scenery. Let me tell you it is a sight you have to see. You don't get this type of mountain here in Canada, well from Toronto anyway. That is where I am from. As we continue we see reptiles (of course it is a bit cooler near the mountains) therefore, the reptiles can live in peace and it is easier for us (the Canadians). I was able to wear a long sleeve shirt without sweating to death.

Eventually we came around to having lunch.
